Luisa Beccaria, a refined fashion designer, has extended her creative energies to embrace a complete lifestyle offer, including the tabletop, featuring a delicate natural world

ilanese designer Luisa Beccaria has expressed her concept of beauty since the very beginning of her career, when she presented her first collections in art galleries and magnificent gardens in the centre of Milan. In the early 1990s her garments appeared on the runways of Paris and Rome, where many celebrities fell in love with her style, an appealing melange of prints, colours and fabrics clothing an ethereal, romantic woman resembling a beautiful painting, even when surrounded by the brutalist concrete of an urban landscape. After making a name for herself with her poetic, hyperfeminine dresses, the designer has gradually extended her concept of beauty to take in homeware, expressing her artistic talent through domestic interiors. According to Luisa Beccaria, the home is a source of inspiration and ideas, and these, interpreted through Italian artisanal excellence, translate into style objects for interior design, spaces and gardens. The contemporary elegance of her work also graces dinner tables – during the recent Milan Design Week she presented her Dreamy Garden line with a display in the interior patio at the monobrand showroom in the Brera district. The mood it created was a wonderful expression of the collection’s style, evoking a dreamlike natural setting with a secret garden and a table at its centre, all rendered in restrained colours, always a feature of the designer’s distinctive colour palette.

The porcelain plates, decorated with the Luisa Beccaria brand’s iconic prints, are complemented by the lovely transparent colours of crystal glasses, flutes, goblets and liqueur glasses, all handmade by expert Tuscan artisans. The botanical inspiration now brings the shapes and colours of an idyllic garden into the interior, with wallpapers, also in a textile version, adorned with cornflowers, delicate buds and wildflowers over which butterflies flutter. These co-ordinate with the Sicilianmade ceramic tiles the brand has already launched. In the dining room, too, light bathes fields of spring flowers depicted on porcelain and fabrics, stimulating the dialogue between nature and the home. luisabeccaria.it
