01 Kanchanaburi Botanical-Geological Park: Revive Biodiversity and Natural Environments
CHAWAN CHEVARUNOTAI
In Recently, From survey and verification by Thailand Committee of Education and Investigate in Mining Problems indicates that The 351acre former limestone quarry site in Khao Rad, laid on Kanchanaburi province in western Thailand affected to citizens health problems and poor ecological services such as air pollution, water contamination and soil infertility in Maeklong River Watershed for 15 years. As a consequence, Thailand Royal
Forest Department, which own this area provides Thailand Botanical Garden Organization to conserve and rehabilitate geological change processes and severe rockslide problem. Both botanical and geological evidence show that reclamation with biomass, re-vegetation, natural succession and bio-engineering are main methods that are proposed in this project and set to renewal limestone horticultural society of plants with botany conditions
in order to create recreational-educational center to become The New Botanical – Geological park.
7
To efficiently progress the project, it is essentially needed to understand the geological process on country’s west forest and other related cognitions in various fields to revive both a natural abundance and environment condition without leaving negative consequences to ecosystem and communities. The situation of limestone geology area has a specific geomorphological structure, which always altering in an unpredictable way. Processes of geological change include 3 stages. First, Karst stage: Ground water and surface water will react with limestone compound forming plain area. Second, Changing stage: Time passes, earth crust uplifted and ground water declined, resulted in the changing of flow direction which formed valley and hills area. Last, Mogote stage: The strongest part of limestone that is not effected from the occurrence forms a tower-shaped hill called ‘Mogote’. However, Limestone quarry interrupts these processes and the area is divided in to 2 parts as the following: the area consisted of limestone which is stable, functional and applicable for design are called ‘Re-karst area’ Nevertheless, the area contained pottery stone has dynamic landscape and might have stalactite and rock slide are called ‘Re-changing area’. The design in this part must be done carefully

CHAWAN CHEVARUNOTAI
The waterfront development, nothing is more important than clean water. The activities will grow up in waterfront place, where people can interact with the waterfront area. So all the activities will continue after all the water has been clean up. The motivation comes from the contaminated river, which can be found near the infrastructure of the city. Because of the insufficiency of sewage systems and wastewa
ter management systems of the city is inappropriate. All the Canals, Pumping station and Watergate around the city are inappropriate to thecontext that makes it ineffective. In the past, the canal was the main elements for irrigation and to locate the agricultural areas, but nowadays most of the canals around the city transforms into frainage system to collect all of the waste from the city.

The solution is not to build water treatment station but in another way is to build a Minor-water treatment system to reduce waste water, such as increasing the absorption area for stormwater, manage waste water in RC pipes of the city and the most important is thing to let people understand about how the canal and river are important to their lives. CHAOPHRAYA River development project focusing on revisioning the perspective of the people in the nearby communi ties, the physical structure which using the home town of the Canals, Pumping

station and Watergate to be manage of water pollution of the river and the city’s public space. This project is the new solution for Thailand’s society. Bangkok has water management systems; Watergates and Pumping stations. Water management and Wastewater in the tunnel are facing with many problems that are causing the pollution in the CHAOPHRAYA River and the effecting the Gulf of Thailand. The easiest way to solve this problem is to increase the efficiency of the existing system by adding water management.
27
CHAWAN CHEVARUNOTAI
Watergates and pumping stations can only block the solid waste and increase the oxygen to the water, but it does not solve all the problems. Including the water tunnels that are responsible for accelerating the sewage of the city, but did not consider the wastewater of the city. The role is to allow the water to drain out which is not only for blocking the solid waste but also nuetrient and mixed with heavy metals. Moreover, it need to increaed the BOD of the river above the standard, and also needs to solve the problems.

A canal that openness is important in terms of society , economy , culture and tourism. On the contrary, it is the wastest of water. The most challenge thing is about developing the waterfront area to make it the most benefit by giving priority to clean water and the blue-green infrastructure can be used in CHAOPHRAYA river’s tourism to make a better life and help to communicate between people and the river as in the old days.

03 Landfill Reclamation: Rayong Renewable Energy Park
CHAWAN CHEVARUNOTAI
Central Landfill of Rayong, laid on mangrove forest beside Prasae River, refer to a 39.5-acres landfill reclamation area that has a ecological problem. This landfill closed due to continious lechate-leak since 2014 which affect local people, animals and plants. The project goal is set to develop and reclaim land inorder to create the recreational and educational-renewable energy park with the cooperation of Rayong Provincial
Administration Organization and local people. This also including plan to establish Rayong Health Center.
33
Landfill Management Plan
The situation of closed landfill has a food waste and others which always engender a natural biogas. Therefore, from those specific character, the design must have a landfill management (phytoremediation) plan that solve a poor environmental situation such as water con-

04 Bangbal Ricehub and Ecological Management Plan
CHAWAN CHEVARUNOTAI
In Thailand, an economic system in rice harvesting is very beneficial to rice’s distributors which are called “ middle man” in micro scale and “Yhong” in macro scale . In this project middle mans are replaced by “ Cooperative “ which will give authority to local farmers to control rice and other agriculture products price and distribute them to macro scale by themselves. According to the problems of Bangbaal district in Ayut
thaya province which became a water basin during flooded season in order to protect industrial area and Bangkok from flood.

More over, in Thailand farmers are usually treated as victims of . This leads to the low income of people in this district because the ecology and the unfair economic system . Thus, our project’s aims crease an income to local farmers and also bring back richness to baal’s ecology by using the circulation of agricultural system.

Detail design Bangbaal rice hub Cooperative is located on the main junction of Bangbaal district . Inside of this area, experimental fields and distribution center of garlic, rice, flooded rice, roselle, banana, soybean and shallot are displayed, thus visitors can see all of the processes and how these projects change Bangbaal people lives. Meanwhile harvesting in the flooded season, some areas such as watersides will be used for temporary rice storage before transporting to a cooperative center.
CHAWAN CHEVARUNOTAI
Its height is approximately 7.00 meters to protect a main circulation during flooded season. Roselles which can grow only on the first six months of the year are planted along the two side of the main road.
Meanwhile harvesting in the flooded season, some areas such as watersides will be used for temporary rice storage before transporting to a cooperative center.
Garlic and shallot field will be planted during January and harvested in April . After that, it will be changed to rice field by using irrigation system and ridge.
Soybean field can grow easier during April to July so it will be planted instead of garlic and shallot . Although, This type of bean has a low price compares to the other plants, It will bring back richness to the soil after harvesting processes.
Main road is a main circulation for rice and the other products to be transported to Bangkok which is a hub of rice in Thailand . Moreover, this road will be used by visitors and businessman who want to travel or deal with Bangbaal’s communities.
High yield and Patumthani 1 rice will be planted 2 times during the first six months of the year and some of them will be planted in the flood protection zone during rainy season.
During the flooded season, This ridge will protect banaba trees which will be died if the water levels rises. In some areas, this road can be site for temporary house because those can not be used during this period.
During flooded season, floating rice field will be used to grow Patumthani 1 rice along an residential area . In the rice field , only flooded will be planted during this period of the year.
During flooded season in some areas , sub road can be site for temporary house, because those can not be used during this period and its height is about 7 meters.
