A Message From the CEO
As our centennial commemoration draws to a close and the holidays shine bright at Playhouse Square, we pause to reflect on our many blessings. Seeing all of you at the theater is at the very top of our list.
Also topping our list is Hamilton’s return to Cleveland. We know many of you are enjoying Hamilton as part of a holiday celebration with family and friends, a gift that will last a lifetime. Memories made at the theater endure forever. Thank you for spending part of your holiday season with us.
We are grateful for the many inspirational acts that have made Playhouse Square the special place it is today. Just a few examples include:
Joseph Laronge, Marcus Loew and others partnering to build the five theaters that would become the foundation of today’s Playhouse Square
Ray Shepardson and members of the community saving our theaters from demolition in the 1970s
Young professionals coming together through our Partners group
Many donors supporting and embracing our not-for-profit mission over the years
Teachers introducing their students to live theater
People of all ages and backgrounds giving their time as RedCoat and STARS volunteers
Our dedicated team working to deliver great experiences for all of you to enjoy
Partnership, collaboration and togetherness are the cornerstones upon which Playhouse Square has been built. Truly … Together We Shine!
Now, sit back and prepare to experience the story of America then, told by America now. As I reflect on the many shows that have taken to our stages during my time here, Hamilton has been among the most groundbreaking, and it will certainly be back many times over during the tenure of our incoming President & CEO Craig Hassall as he leads Playhouse Square into a bright future.
On behalf of our staff and Board of Trustees, I wish all of you peace and happiness this holiday season, and health and prosperity in the New Year.
