ASHLEY SMITH & TANNER FRADY NO REGRETS TATTOO Why did you go to Austin? It’s a close getaway with lots of options on things to do. We mainly went to check out a few sign shops we saw on a documentary, camp and see a live show. What did you see there that you would like to bring back? More hand painted signs! Say no to mass production and vinyl lettering! When you use hand painted options you get artwork out of it along with supporting local artists. It shows a more attention to detail and that you care about your business and the community looking nice! KRISTEN VAILS PLAZA DISTRICT DIRECTOR Why did you go to Nashville? I attended the Americans for the Arts Conference. What did you see there that you would like to bring back? Printmaking, printmaking, printmaking! Being the wife of a printmaker, seeing the community’s support of printmaking was inspiring. There were several print shops that were doing really amazing work. I hope to see the OKC community embrace printmaking more in the future.

DYLAN & AMANDA BRADWAY DNA GALLERIES Why did you go to Portland? To return work back to an artist in Oakland and attend an engagement party in Portland What did you see there that you would like to bring back? More districts in the city that have their own unique offerings

Access Midstream Corporate Communications, Change Management Initiative “I love shopping and dining in the plaza. I never leave the district empty handed. The shops of Plaza are my favorites places to buy local art and oklahoma themed clothing. I’m incredibly proud to be a part of the rich, local culture that is Plaza and I LOVE bringing out of town friends and family to shop and eat in this unique district.

Project Manager The Alliance for Economic Development of Oklahoma City, Inc. “The Plaza District has a strong sense of community with an organic and unique vibrancy that makes me proud to live next door in Classen Ten Penn. Meeting friends for a beer or a slice is only a two minute bike ride away.”

Executive Director Positively Paseo The Plaza District is like my own private shopping/dining/entertainment district nestled in between two cool historic neighborhoods. There’s a great synergy between the neighborhoods and the Plaza; they support and encourage each other. I love that I can walk to the Plaza in 5 minutes and chat with neighbors along the way. Oh, and the Little Free library is pretty great, too!

Executive Director The Parish OKC “The Plaza District has been “Mayberry” for me and my family since 2009. It’s the place I work, the people I know, and my time well spent.

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

Deborah is the Business Manager for Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, and is a past member of the Plaza District Board of Directors. She continues her involment with the district by volunteering her time to handle payroll and notary services for the organization. Deborah Minard

“Volunteering has always been something I do. Doing the Plaza District payroll and providing notary services is my way to help the District. It is truly exciting to see the positive changes that have happened over the years and know I’ve helped.”
