Marco is in his junior year of high school. He’s

Though they’ve known each other for a while, Marco and Prynce were never really close—until they both decided to run for the Student Government Council.
By coincidence, they ended up on the same party list, which brought them together. As the days went by, Marco noticed Prynce opening up more. He was becoming more responsible and caring, and they grew closer.
Prynce started messaging Marco every day and night, which felt a bit unusual for Marco, but he didn’t mind— it was nice to have a friend like that.

Soon, their friendship turned into something more.
Prynce would pick Marco up at night, and they would spend time at Prynce’s house cooking dinner, eating, even getting drunk together. They shared the same bed like close friends, but there were moments when Prynce’s actions felt like something more.

At first, Marco thought it was just how good friends acted. But over time, he began to feel confused. Prynce’s behavior seemed to hint that maybe he liked Marco in a different way. Still, Marco tried not to overthink it. He enjoyed their time together, even though he felt unsure about what Prynce was really feeling.

Marco was dancing with some friends, and Prynce sat on the bleachers, watching from afar. Marco noticed Prynce was upset and went over to him, but Prynce snapped, “Are you making fun of me?” Marco tried to explain, but Prynce wouldn’t listen. Frustrated, Prynce grabbed Marco and said they should leave. Marco, confused and slightly drunk, asked Prynce outside his house, “What’s your problem?” Prynce’s response was sharp:

“I told you, don’t expect too much. We’re just friends, right? But what am I to you?” Marco, feeling caught off guard, said, “Yes, we’re friends… Why?”

They both went somewhere to talk. Marco, still unsure of what to say, asked, "What are we, really?" Instead of answering, Prynce pulled Marco close and kissed him.
Marco was left stunned, his heart racing, wondering— Does he actually like me? Or am I just imagining things?

The next day, things went back to normal, as if nothing had happened. Marco decided to visit Prynce, but when they crossed paths, Prynce pretended not to see him. Marco was confused but tried not to think too much of it. He messaged Prynce later, but got no reply. Prynce told him he was busy, even though it seemed like something was wrong. As days passed, they continued to talk, but every now and then, Prynce would say,

He caught Prynce flirting with one of their friends, Nathan, through messages. Marco read their conversation, feeling his heart sink as he realized what was going on. But instead of confronting Prynce, Marco pretended he didn’t know, even though it hurt him deeply inside.
Marco finally decided to tell Prynce how he really felt. They planned to hang out together, but before Marco could say anything, he saw a notification on Prynce’s phone from Na than:

Marco’s heart shattered. He spent the whole night crying, asking himself—

After that night, Marco stopped visiting Prynce. He pulled away, trying to deal with the pain on his own. A week later, Marco had a nightmare about Prynce and couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong
He rushed to Prynce’s house, only to find him weak and sick. Prynce, struggling to stay strong, hugged Marco and whispered,
“I’m sorry for everything… I will always love you…”
He kissed Marco’s cheek, then collapsed.
Prynce died in Marco’s arms, leaving Marco devastated and heartbroken. The boy who showed him what love could be, even in its confusion, was gone. Marco was left with the memories of their time together—both happy and painful— wondering what could have been if only they had been honest with each other.
