Urban transport systems testing infrastructures
A very unique testing center in Europe, exclusively dedicated to mass transit systems for goods & passengers in urban areas Gathers 4 different transport-related platforms Shared competences & infrastructures dedicated to improving innovations’ time to market for the transport industry 45 member partner involved 15
New urban transport systems for goods
Large-scale validation of several R&D projects (still ongoing or terminated) Solutions for different users, various logistic systems Technological, organisational R&D projects, originated by national & European innovation partnerships Goals : reduce traffic congestion, GHG/noise emissions, and improve transport efficiency 16
New urban transport systems for passengers
Global approach on testing technological solutions for masstransit of passengers in urban areas Ex: « Modulo » project • Design of an adaptable/flexible vehicle based on a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) model 17
Training Commission Gathers a dozen of local industry players and academic partners
Mission : Anticipate future needs of LUTB members in terms of workforce competences for the entire transport industry (to 3, 5 years and more) • Example : « high-tension risk in new vehicles » o “Which competences/ training are needed ?”
