note from The editor I
t’s finally here and I can’t describe how amazing it feels to say welcome to Issue One of The Fashion Edit!
Over the last 18months PLT has exploded internationally as one of the coolest online retailers of now. We are pushing our boundaries, seeing how far we can go and believe me we are taking you all with us. It’s time to be that girl you have always wanted to be. Wear the styles you dare to wear and work the trends you dare to lead - we make them all possible. I have a very strong belief in who the PLT girl is; she is the one they all stare at, the one that smiles the most, the one that dreams the biggest and the one they all aspire to be. She’s fierce and she knows exactly what she wants.
AW13 is upon us and we are wrapping up in our oversized furs and taking inspo from all around the globe to keep our style tribe up to date with every trend on the AW13 runway and festive season style tips you need. You can have a sneak peek behind the scenes at how the AW13 advert all came together from onesie sleepovers in manor houses to flying our fave LA blogger over to work it in front of the camera, we really did pull out all the stops for our girls . The excitement has begun here at HQ and we can’t wait to share it with you!

This season is all about clashing your super sexy innerself with a bit of cool animal print sophistication. AW13 will be full of leather and punk lovin’ intertwined with some sheer elegance. We will be wrapping up in our multi coloured furs while stomping around in our sky scraper thigh highs. It’s all about the glisten with an 80’s crushed velvet twist mixed in with some rock ‘n’ roll ‘n’ rebel . The runways have set the rules and we are here to obey ladies... So Hanna, what brings you to London? I basically came to have fun, a vacation and work. Plus it’s fashion week so definitely to check out next season’s trends straight off the runway! How was fashion week? It was awesome. It was fun checking out the people of London, as they definitely have more fun with fashion. Back home in America, people tend to play it safe so I like seeing everyone dressed up here.

he’s rocked the blogger world and now she’s rockin’ PLT’s world. We got the chance to hang out with international blogger Hanna Beth aka Barbie Beth.
Blogging since she was 17, Hanna Beth has made quite an impact in the social networking world with nearly 110,000 followers on Instagram and 83,000 on twitter. This girl has got a style tribe of followers who she inspires on a daily basis. With journalism and modelling under her belt as well there is no end to this gal’s talents. In an oversized sweater high waisted knicker shorts and bowler hat this petite rock ‘n’ roll girl strolled in to a London coffee shop. iPhone in one hand, rucksack in the other with beaming smile, it kind of makes sense why this girl is such a hit worldwide and an international trend setter. We packed out the top floor of a shabby chic coffee house full of rails packed with our PLT’s must haves. With one half of the room sectioned off for clothes our photographer took over the other. Bright lights and boxes upon boxes of size 3 shoes at the ready for Hanna to complete her perfect looks.

So what brands inspire you? For me, I love brands that take risks. I like to mix it up and change my style a lot and I like to pull all those different looks from the one place. What is your MUST-HAVE item this AW? I’m a really big fan of mesh right now. Some of my favourite pieces that I picked out from PLT are all mesh, shirts, shorts, dresses everything as I feel they can be mixed with anything and you can tie it into a day or night time look. How would you describe your look today? Today I’m going for a casual rocker look. Plaid is huge this season, so I have on a little checked mini dress and a black leather jacket, with these amazing super hot black heels. I love anything with height as I’m super short so they complete all my outfits! Talk us through your PLT looks on today’s shoot... Today for my key looks I went for a little bit of everything as I didn’t want to stick to one style. One of the pieces I picked was this tie dye oversized t-shirt, I’m a fan of anything oversized as I like wearing it as a dress so I picked that with some thigh high boots to make it a little bit more sexy and less casual. I also picked an oversized fluffy sweater that reminds me of 70’s punk style and I’m definitely inspired by that era. Another look I put together was a leopard bodysuit, mesh top and then a tartan skater skirt… it’s basically all my favourite things in one outfit.

When we knew we had to make our A/W13 TV advert we couldn’t wait to pull out all the stops and share the experience with you… With a call time of 6am, what better way to prep for the shoot than arranging a slumber party on location for the night before. Genius or what? The night consisted of LA bloggers, models, Team PLT, pizza, enough sweet treats to fill a candy store and not 1 but 8 onesies. We sat and gossiped in front of an open fire in what was called the Tandori room in the most beautiful manor house you have ever seen, it was so surreal. It’d be fair to say we lived as kings and queens for the night or maybe Unicorns and giraffes but we will let you be the judge of that. The night of fun and games soon came to an end at midnight as we had an early start the next morning, 4:30am to be precise.

Morning came and alarm bells rang in every room of the house. We dined for breakfast at the 30 seat dining table followed by make-up and wardrobe, ready for the filming to begin at 7:00am. There were cast and crew members in every doorway and lights beaming round every corner. The corridors of the manor were the girl’s runways and boy did they work it! The cameramen chased after Montana and Hannah as our girls owned the day, as well the night. The behind the scenes of ‘We Own The Night,’ seemed just as surreal as the advert. A buzz filled each room and the excitement of knowing we were in the making of something so amazing was so magical and makes all the hard work so worthwhile. From open fires, f loor to ceiling windows, drapes, snowf lakes and spiral staircases the PLT advert began to come to life. ‘We Own The Night,’ was born…

ANTONIA I’m Antonia- Creative Manager @ PLT! I organise all that is creative on the PLT front from photo shoots to adverts to trends. I absolutely love coming into work everyday, it’s a dream come true. If i could give advice to anyone it would be dream big and believe in yourself and get to where you want to be! The sky is the limit!
HELEN I’m Helen- PLT’s Ecommerce Executive. I deal with all the exciting new styles that land on our site and merchandise it to make sure it’s looking hot. I love Gin , R Kelly and cats. I believe in class and confidence… Scarlett Johansson and Christina Hendricks are my absolute style heroes!

I’m Danielle- Publisher. I help Helen publish and merchandise new products on our website. I also assist on editorial and TV adverts with styling. I take inspiration from high end catwalk styles to create new looks everyday. Being involved in everything, keeps working at PLT exciting. Each day is a new challenge.
I’m Ellena- Fashion Assistant here at PLT and the baby of the group. I help out in every single aspect of the business whenever I’m needed but i love creating graphics for our social media and weekly emails. I’m loving Cara Delevingne’s wild child style this season. I’m going to be rocking the grungy trend like her.
