AdWeek AdWeek is an annual event in our college and our section was assigned to be the organizer. The theme was 1970’s pop culture and I was assigned to make the logo and the key visual for the event.
Poster For the poster, I made a collage using 70’s imagery, from film, music, events, and pop culture icons, keeping the funk and psychedelic fusion in mind.
Logo The 1970’s were mostly associated with funk and psychedelia, so with the logo, I combined those two by putting elements that signify funk (afro, disco ball, and jukebox), and used wavy logotype and oversaturated vibrating colors that were seen on music posters and album covers of the decade that are synonymous with the psychedelic movement.

Grand Ball Poster This is another event that our class organized. The theme of the event was the 1920’s and we wanted to use the art deco style that was prominent in the decade for the visuals. I made the print ad simple and tried not to go overboard with the geometric patterns and embellishments to focus mainly on the copy.

Social WEdia These are some of the visual elements for an IMC Campaign that we made for 2016 Pananaw IMC Student Competition. The campaign was about responsible use of social media and I was assigned to make campaign logos and other materials.

AdCongress AdCongress is a series of seminars held by 4th-year students of ADPR. It’s an annual event where practitioners from advertising and related fields were invited to give a talk about various topics to give tips, insights, and inspiration to ADPR students. We made a lot of changes with the concept, theme, and title of the seminar because the whole class has different ideas about the project. AdCongress have an overall theme “video games” that all seminars should follow. These are some of the key visuals that I proposed for the project.
Version One Our initial idea was to give tips and tricks to make advertising life a bit easier for those who have yet to enter the industry. For this one, we took the idea of gaming rulebooks as a guide or a manual in working at an advertising agency. With the visuals, I was inspired by the artworks placed on retro Japanese arcade machines. I liked how colorful and fun they look. And since our idea was to make this seminar into a “playbook”, I figured that maybe the print ad can be like a retro manga cover.

Version Two After a few more discussions with the class, we shifted the concept a little bit, this time by “hacking the game”, or making use of cheat codes to make the game easier, like life-hacks for working in advertising. During this time, I was fascinated with the internet culture “vaporwave” which became my inspiration for this print ad. I thought it would be the perfect visual for the concept because of its use of cyberpunk elements, retro video game references, basically any random object paired with an 80’s design element, and I figured that it would be a fun style to play around and experiment with.

Final We changed the art direction a little bit and we decided to fully embrace the idea of hacking by being direct with the imagery of the project. We thought of using the vendetta mask as the main element for our materials and I was asked to make a series of print ads with the altered vendetta masks.
