Tips for Using the New Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) System for claiming PDUs Lately we are getting a lot of questions about the new Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) system that is in operation on the PMI.org website since August to claim PDUs for extending the certifications. The new CCR System will ensure that PMI keeps pace with the needs of the growing number of credential holders and education providers. The new CCR system allows members to do the following: View PDU activities, for listing PDUs that you already have claimed Report PDUs, for new activities Frequently asked questions about CCRS and Specialty Credential PDUs: 1. How do credential holders claim PDU activities? Participants are able to submit a provider ID and activity/course code under two separate categories to locate and to claim PDUs accordingly. Follow this procedure to claim PDUs: 1. Go to https://www.pmi.org/ccrs/. 2. Login with your Username and Password. 3. On the screen you will see the “Cycle Detail by Credential”, showing a list of already claimed PDUs for attended events. 4. For claiming PDUs, click on “Report professional development units (PDUs) at the left column. 5. For claiming PMI Netherlands Chapter events, fill in “PDU category”: Cat 3 6. Fill in “Activity type”: Find an Activity (Course or Event) 7. Click on green “Next” button 8. Fill in “Provider number”: C266 9. Click on green “Search” button 10. On the screen you will see a list of all registered PMI NL Chapter events for which PDUS can be claimed 11. Select the Activity # that you want to claim PDUs for. 12. In the next few screens, fill in the details for the PDUs to be claimed, and 13. Confirm by clicking on the green “Next” and “Submit” buttons. 14. For claiming PMI Netherlands Chapter volunteering work, fill in “PDU category”: 5B 15. In the next few screens, fill in the details for the PDUs to be claimed, and 16. Confirm by clicking on the green “Next” and “Submit” buttons. 17. For claiming for another PDU category, fill in “PDU category”: as appropriate 18. In the next few screens, fill in the details for the PDUs to be claimed, and 19. Confirm by clicking on the green “Next” and “Submit” buttons. 20. After submitting the PDU claim, notification emails are sent about the submission and approval (or not with a reason).
2. Will credential holders still have to manually track any PDUs earned for the PMI-SP® or PMI-RMP® credentials? No. The new system provides online PDU reporting for all PMI credentials that are included in the CCR program. Credential holders will use CCRS to claim all PDUs earned towards the PMP®, PgMP®, PMI-SP® or PMIRMP® credentials. Call for students and head coach for the PMP/CAPM Coaching class FebruaryApril 2010 1. Class Of course you can prepare yourself for the PMP or CAPM exam by self-study, but you can also enroll in the next PMI Netherlands Coaching class. Because we are currently updating the presentation material for the new PMBOK Fourth Edition, we have skipped the autumn class and will start early in the new year from February to April 2010. For several years the Chapter has organized this class, in which experienced member PMPs prepare you for the exam. Since 2006 we organize this class twice a year, and it its popularity is growing. Most of the students have passed their exams on their first try short after the class. The class is spread over four Saturdays with two weeks in between. The first three days you will make questions in specific knowledge areas, and the coaches will explain in an interactive way the rationale of the answers. It is expected that you study the material at home thoroughly. Each day is concluded by giving a brief overview of the areas for the next session. On the last day you will make a test exam, of which the results are discussed with the coaches. All classes start at 10:00, and run till 16:00. The location is Hotel De Biltsche Hoek in De Bilt, close to Utrecht. The fee is € 545, which includes study material (PMBOK Fourth Edition - English version and Rita Mulcahy’s PMP® Exam Prep, Sixth Edition), accommodation, lunch and beverages. The price increase is due to higher accommodation and more study material costs. For the class to be effective for students and coaches we recommend you to attend at least 3 of the Saturdays and to have passed the experience and education eligibility requirements (which you can find on www.pmi.org, under “Get Certified”) and to already have planned your online exam soon after the class. Enrollment is limited to 12 students, and to PMI Netherlands Chapter members. First come, first served. The class dates in February to April will be scheduled as soon as 8 students have enrolled.
You will be able to register through our website www.pmi-netherlands-chapter.org. Watch the homepage. 2. Head coach Because of the heavy work commitments of our current head coach, we are looking for a volunteer PMP who can take over the organisation of the PMP/CAPM coaching class in the future and who can join one of our coaches in a class if required. Previous training experience would be nice but not necessary.
