Elections: Zamfara NSCDC Commandant warns against corruption

Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has warned it’s members to ensure total respect for the rules of engagement for absolute hitchfree conduct of the forthcoming general elections in the state.

This was communicated yesterday by the State Commandant, Mohammed Bello Mu’azu during a capacity building organised for the senior officers of the

Command being part of preparations for the peaceful conduct of 2023 general elections.

Commandant Mu’azu warned that, members of the NSCDC must before, during and after elections exhibit due diligence, commitment and courage in the discharge of their constitutional duties, and must not compromise the performance of duties on any ground.

“The Corp shall cooperate, collaborate and partner with other security agencies for the purpose of formidable synergy to ensure that the election is peaceful, free, fair and credible, personnel are to link up with the operation room and adhered strictly to harmonize operational order to ensure among others minimum of the one person per polling booth, collation and final result declaration venters”.

“I am directing you to ensure all deployed members for the conduct of election in the state should be civil not aggressive, this is for the fact that the main aim of the NSCDC is to provide conducive environment for credible elections to the extent voters must have cool and calm election exercise at all polling units across the state”, Commandant Mu’azu further directed.

He further warned that, “In a nutshell, both the staffers of the INEC, eligible voters and all the election materials must be well protected, but there may be situation whereby an individual or group of unpatriotic citizens may engage selves in illegal actions against the elections, there, the need for application of force may have way in under the Command’s order”.
