2023: IGP flags off PCRC women, youths sensitization summit in Abuja
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has flagged off the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) National Women and Youths Sensitization Summit on peaceful, free and fair 2023 General Elections with the theme ‘Ensuring Secured and Safe Atmosphere for Nigerian Women and Youths during Election Process’.
A statement yesterday by CSP OLUMUYIWA ADEJOBI, Police spokesman said the summit dissected the role of the electorate, particularly women and youths, and urged cooperation with personnel of the Nigeria Police and other security agencies engaged in election security management for robust security before, during, and after the 2023 General Elections.

The IGP commended the initiative of the PCRC National Chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim and the PCRC National Executives while urging them to use their platform to improve security at the grassroots level while working to empower local communities to work in tandem
Niger students endorse Tinubu for 2023

Niger State students under the auspices of Asiwaju Students Club (ASC 2023) has endorsed the candidature of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu for the forthcoming general elections.
The Niger State Coordinator of the club, Comrade Jibril Mohammed Lwafu during the official endorsement after addressing the students in Minna, said Tinubu’s endorsement was sequel to the mass consultation of the group.
Lwafu maintained that Nigeria needs not only personality but a leader that is competent, patriotic, visionary and detribalized individual.
He said that the politically conscious and proactive students were concerned about the democratic challenges that borders on the national unity and transformation.
The student leader emphasized that 36% of INEC voters register consist of students and youths, hence they must take their destiny in their hands by mobilizing Nigerians to vote Tinubu and Shetima for 2023 general elections to salvage the country.
Similarly, the IGP addressed the previous batch of Police Constables who have been trained in weapons handling, police tactics/techniques, human rights standards in arrest/detention/ search of persons or vehicles, and public order management by the NPF Peacekeeping Office. The officers conducted a brief demonstration of the contemporary techniques for crowd control and intervention in the event of public disorder which they have learned in preparation for the 2023 General Elections.
While reiterating his vision for a Police built on the tenets of training and retraining, the
Inspector-General of Police charged the officers to employ their training judiciously with a huge dedication to duty so as to ensure that the 2023 General Elections security management is effectively handled at every level, particularly at the grassroots.
