FCT-APC Youth protests considering Candido, exAMAC Chair for appointment in Tinubu’s regime

The FCT APC Youth For Good Governance and Sustainable Development (YGG-SD) has declared that former Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Abdullahi Adamu Candido should not be considered as of those to be appointed for any position in the President Bola Tinubu’s led Federal Government.

YGG-SD alleged that it was Candido, the immediate past Mandate Secretary, Transportation, FCT Administration, whose antiparty activities contributed to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) lossing AMAC to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the recent FCT Area Councils election.

Declaring this stance at a press briefing at the weekend, Coordinator, FCT YGG-SD, Hon.

Muhammad Kabir Abubakar, disclosed that the group was reliably informed that Candido’s CV is one among others to be considered for Ministerial appointment or any other appointment in the Tinubu’s administration.

Abubakar said: “If this really become true, members of APC in FCT must have to believe that, the only language APC leadership understand better is anti-party activity. This will surely reduce the morale and contribution spirit of most of our serious minded APC stakeholders in FCT and give reason to many APC members that anti-party activities is a serious business and it pay with big reward”.

He recalled that the group had on the 5th of January, 2023, wrote protest letter addressed to APC National Chairman, Sen. Dr. Abdullahi Adamu, was copied to so many personalities and stakeholders within the APC leadership and family, notifying them on the anti-party activities of Candido, which was not acted upon, and that gave him the opportunity to do more harm to APC during the 2023 Presidential election.

While stressing that political appointment and reward should be done based on political participation and political patronage, not because of political pressure, the group called on President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and Sen. Abdullahi Adamu to take act on its letter of notification on Candido’s anti-party activities, which contained clear facts and proof.

“We are hundred percent in support of appointing someone for Ministerial appointment from FCT, because it deserved to have a Minister, but not someone like Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido.

“If all members of APC in FCT Work against the party the way Hon. Candido did, APC in FCT would have not scored the 90,902 votes scored for APC during the

February 25th 2023 Presidential election.

“Therefore, Candido’s CV should not be considered as of those to be appointed for any given position from FCT, and leadership of our great party, the APC at the National Secretariat should look at FCT APC party Executive issues.

“Most of those parading themselves as party leaders in FCT has their name not featured and recognized at the National Secretariat. We have two different APC Party Executives in FCT, we need to know which one is the genuine and recognize by authority”, FCT YGG-SD Coordinator added.
