Zamfara: Senator-elect Yari feeds 6000 orphans

Former Zamfara State Governor and Senator-elect, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has distributed 200 trucks of assorted grains worth 200 million naira meant to alleviate pains felt by orphans from across the 20 emirates of the state.

Flagging off the distribution exercise on Wednesday at Command Guest Inn Gusau, former Governor Yari who was represented by the former Commissioner ministry for religious affairs, Dr. Abdullahi Maharazu Mafara, said the gesture was purely nonpolitical. Maharazu noted that, 5200 bags of assorted grains have been procured with a view to feed the 6000 randomly selected orphans from the 20 emirates of the state, adding that, 4170 bags were distributed to the orphans during the 2022 Ramadan.

The grains been distributed include 55,350,000 bags of rice, 33,075,000 bags of sugar, 18,900,000 bags of millet, 28,350,000 bags of corn, and bundles of brochures and wrappers for both boys and girls orphans added with the sum of 2000 naira each for tailoring.

Dr. Maharazu further called on the benefitting emirates to ensure the success of the exercise, adding that, more plans have been hatched by the former Governor, Yari, with a view to increase the number of the beneficiaries especially considering the hardship people of the state have found themselves.

The Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal of Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has led the management of the Area Council on a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Television Authority Channel 5 in Abuja for the sake of information dissemination as well as the grassroots development.

Maikalangu said: “He is proud of NTA Channel 5 for meeting the yearnings of the people at the grassroots, especially by giving them a voice”

He paraphrased that his presence at the station was to identify and align with the NTA Channel 5 in order to meet its goals and objectives.

The Council’s boss pledged to sustain the council’s existing relationship with NTA Channel 5 Abuja.

His words: “NTA Channel 5 has been a reliable source of information for years and has been doing its best for the people at the grassroots level. It has been the voice of the voiceless and a worth partner in progress.

“This is why we decided to partner with the management of continue delivering dividends of democracy to AMAC People. Like I always say, the betterment of AMAC is uppermost on my mind and I will continue making use of every opportunity to make sure that my people get the best of what we can offer”
