Madam Liang Huili said the big achievements recorded in China-Nigeria bilateral relations recently could not be made without the full participation of women from both nations.

Madam Liang who made this known Tuesday in Abuja during briefing on Development of Women Cause in China in commemoration of 3-8 International Women’s Day noted in her view, especially in media sector that Nigeria or China, women have played a more and more important role, to some extent, even bigger than the men saying she was proud of all of them.

She expressed her desire to see that the Chinese Embassy in recent years also paid a lot of efforts to improve the wellbeing of women, girls and other vulnerable groups in Nigeria by providing support to civil organizations or foundations.

Liang while noting that it was a good thing, to which they would increase, stated that over the past 40 years, the capabilities of Chinese women in contributing to economic and social development have been significantly enhanced, which has been demonstrated in Politics, economy, science and technology, education, culture and health.

Continuing, she said that Harmonysymphony Initiative was forming up a new framework for bilateral exchanges of women from the two nations.

Her word, “After more than one year’s living in Nigeria, I have a strong feeling that harmony is indeed a common value pursued and cherished by both societies in Nigeria and China, which performs a natural bond for the furtherance of our bilateral cooperation.

“Last year, with a joint work, my husband, the Chinese Ambassador, put forward the Initiative of Sharing Chinese Harmony and Performing Nigeria-China Symphony. It is my view that, this Initiative, which is rooted from social characteristics of the both societies in Nigeria and China, will give a strong boost to the cultural and people-to-people communications, as well as to the exchanges of women from the two countries.

“Recently, Nigeria has finished its presidential election, with a new Presidentelect emerging. At the same time, China this week is entering into the time of the “two Sessions, with an expectation that a new central government to be elected.

“Nigeria and China are about to turning into a new page of national development.

With a deeper Participation of women from both countries, our bilateral cooperation would definitely make more achievements and bring more benefits to the two peoples” she said.
