Troops kill 53 terrorists, rescue 57 in North East

The Nigerian Military said its troops have killed 56 terrorists, arrested 17 and 9 Boko terrorist logistics suppliers in the North East.

Maj-Gen. Musa Danmadami, Director, Defence Media Operations, made this known on Thursday in Abuja, while giving update on the Military operations in the country.
He said troops also rescued 59 civilians while a total of 340 terrorist and members of their families, comprising 12 adult males, 133 adult females and 195 children surrendered to troops at different locations of the North East theatre of operation.

criminals and rescued civilians were handed over to the appropriate authority for further action while captured terrorists and surrendered Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa Province and members of their families are been profiled for further action.”
He said the operational activities were conducted in various villages, towns, cities and communities of Bama, Konduga, Biu, Magumeri, Kukuwa, Kaga, Mafa and Gwoza Local Government Areas of Borno State.
“Operation were also conducted at Mubi Local Government Area of
Adamawa State in the North East region of the Country geared towards denying Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa Province and other criminal element freedom of actions and restore normalcy to the zone.
“Notably, on 27 Jan 2023, troops conducted fighting patrol to a Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa Province enclave at Yuwe village in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State and made contact with the terrorist. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 17 Boko Haram/ Islamic State of West Africa Province terrorists. Troops recovered 1 GPMG, one 36 hand grenade and 77 rounds of belted 7.62mm NATO ammo.
“Also, on 30 January 23 troops conducted offensive operation to Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa Province terrorists enclave at villages within Bama and Mafa Local Government Areas of Borno State troops made contact with the terrorist. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 3 terrorists, and rescued 10 civilians, recovered 13 dane guns, 316 rounds of 7.62mm x 54mm ammunition, 7 rounds of 7.62mm special, one terrorist flag and a bag of drugs amongst others.”
Sule cautions politicians against use of religion in politics

Nasarawa state Governor Engr Abdullahi Sule has called on politicians and the people of the state to desist from use of religion in politics.
He made the call during his re election campaign rally in Umaisha, Agwada and Gadabuke Development areas of the western senatorial district of the state Thursday..
Engr Sule assured the people of the western zone of his administration commitment toward developing the state especially in the areas of pragmatic projects and the continous maintenance of peaceful co existence of all the ethnic groups in the state.
He said” keep away from politicians who use religion to campaign for their personal interest. We need competent persons that would move the state forward. I promise you the good people of Nasarawa state that if given the mandate again, I am going to do more projects that would impact positively on the lives of the entire people.”Engr Sule assured the people of the western zone of his administration commitment toward developing the state especially in the areas of pragmatic projects and the continous maintenance of peaceful co existence of all the ethnic groups in the state.
