Police arrest 2 suspects for killing 14yr old girl

Niger state police command have arrested two suspects, Nuhu Mohammed and Sani Usman both of Izom town for culpable homicide from Izom, Gurara local government of the state.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO DSP Wasiu Abiodun in Minna.

It said the incident was reported at Gawu-Babangida Div, that a young girl Ubaida Surajo 14yrs of Izom was killed at her parents residence, when the mother was away to the market.

According to Abiodun, during the interrogation, Nuhu who was a tenant in the same residence, confessed that in the early hours of the same date, there was an altercation between him and the deceased mother, about her missing sum of ninety thousand naira, as he was accused to have stolen the money.

He however, claimed that the accusation got him angry, consequently, he invited his friend Sani to the house and attacked the daughter (the deceased) immediately after the girl returned from school.

He confessed further that the girl was injured on the head and strangled to death by the duo.

He said that they immediately left the scene, locked the house gate from outside and went away untill when the mother came back from the market before the incident was discovered.

He stated that the suspects have also been transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation, and they will be arraigned in court for prosecution as soon as the investigation is concluded.
