FFS boss decorates senior, junior officers

The Controller General of Federal Fire Service, Engr Jaji O. Abdulganiyu has decorated the Officer in Charge of Planning and Examination Unit alongside ten other senior officers as they get promoted from the rank of Superintendent to Chief Superintendent of Fire.

A statement issued on Friday by FFS PRO, ACF Abraham O. Paul said the promotion included other officers across cadres.

He listed them include:

117 officers from Deputy Superintendent of Fire (DSF) to Superintendents of Fire (SF); 104 officers from Assistant Superintendents of Fire I (ASF I) to Deputy Superintendents of Fire (DSF); 28 officers from ASF II to ASF I; 64 officers from Inspector of Fire (IF) to ASF II; and 7 officers were upgraded/ converted to ASF II.

“This brings the total number of those promoted to 320 in the 2022 promotion exercise conducted by the The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

“The CGF, Jaji Abdulganiyu congratulated and encouraged them to brace up for higher tasks and challenges that are pertinent with rising through the ranks. He added that their new positions will demand a more careful and discrete conduct in the discharge of their duties because to whom more is given, more is expected.

“Finally, the CGF concluded by intimating the newly promoted officers to set up for postings, as it is in the culture of progress and growth – that no growth happens without a shift in position. It is part of every thriving organization including the Public Service.”

The Leadership and Role Model Foundation of Nigeria (LARMFON) has congratulated the newly elected Speaker of the House of Representative Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas. Following his inauguration.

LARMFON noted the challenges facing the nation at the moment of his inauguration, but was optimistic that as Speaker of the House, he possesses the leadership, character and experience to navigate the course of legislative responsibilities towards national socio-economic and political renewal.

The Group enjoined members to join hands with the new leaders in addressing the daunting task of rebuilding the nation for a new lease of life for the people.

“This is a momentous time in our national history with great promise and we rejoice with you,” he said, adding that“With many years of legislative experience, we are confident that you will lead House to greater heights.

“Although the task ahead is daunting in view of our national challenges, we have no doubt in our minds that your leadership, character and experience will make a difference for the betterment of all Nigerians.

“On our part, we are committed to supporting the Federal Government along the path of reviving the economy, insecurity, others vices and creating an enabling environment for the investment to attain greater productivity.”

LARMFON added that the emergence of Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas was in line with the decision of the All Progressives Congress (APC), adding that it was a testament to the confidence reposed in him by the party and their colleagues to steer the ship of the legislative arm of government

Describing the new leadership as a round peg in a round hole, the Group said Abbas has a wealth of knowledge to deploy in managing the affairs of the House because he has garnered the requisite legislative knowledge for a smooth working relationship with the executive.

The Group noted that Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, who was stood out as the most experienced legislator for he has been a member of the House of Representatives from 2011 till date and has sponsored a recordbreaking 74 bills out of which 21 were signed into law, and has also served as a member of more than seven committees in the House including Commerce, Finance, Defence and Public Procurement.

LARMFON stated that the emergence of the experienced legislators as principal officer in the independent chamber will surely add value to the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as their promises to be synergy between all the arms of government to make a better Nigeria.
