2023: Action Alliance distances self from adoption of Atiku

An opposition party, Action Alliance (AA), has disclaimed the purported adoption of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate in the Saturday’s election. This was contained in a statement by the National Chairman of AA, Dr Adekunle Omo-Aje, and made available to the media in Kaduna yesterday.

The statement insisted that the party, neither had such arrangement nor did it plan to adopt any other person in the place of its presidential candidate.
Recalled that AA, led by the sacked national chairman, Mr Kenneth Udeze, alongside other four political parties, had, on Saturday, adopted Mr Abubakar as their presidential candidate for the Feb. 25 poll. Other parties included Allied Peoples
Movement (APM), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Action, Peoples Party (APP) and National Rescue Movement (NRM).
But while reacting to the claims, Omo-Aje said: “Our attention has been drawn to a fabrication and fraudulent arrangement, purportedly with some named political parties touching on stepping down for presidential candidate of People Democratic Party Alhaji Atiku
Abubakar.
“We make bold here to say emphatically that our party, Action Alliance, has no such arrangement at all, nor was anything as such ever contemplated among our ranks.
“This is to further reiterate for the umpteenth time that our party, Action Alliance, is never thinking of any kind of collaboration with any political party or any candidate whatsoever.”
Mustapha Lamido disburses 6,000 liters of fertilizer to farmers

The Jigawa state gubernatorial candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido disbursed 6,000 liters of agro-fertilizer to farmers in the state.
Speaking during the disbursement held at his campaign office in Dutse, Alhaji
Mustapha Sule Lamido who was represented by his running mate Alhaji Babandi Gumel said, over 365 farmer’s associations will benefit from the fertilizer.
According to him, this is part of effort to unite Jigawa people, and a move to fight against hunger as well as to boost the economy of teeming population of the state.

Lamido added that, the 6,000 liters fertilizer will be distribute to all farmers in the state, regardless of what political party the farmer came from.
He then urged the beneficiaries to use the fertilizer appropriately to achieve the desired goal of fight against hunger in the state.
While making his remarks, the agricultural consultant who was assigned to lead the distribution, Alhaji Muhammad Ahmad Adamu said, the fertilizer will be disburse across three Senatorial zones adding that, North-east zone will take the larger share.
The agricultural consultant explained that, the 500 cartoons of fertilizer contained 6,000 litres that would cover about 3,000 hectres of farm.
