Election and it’s great corollary on a nation

The ability to have a say in who runs your government is a human right. Without voting people cannot participate in government. Voting matters because human rights matter. Speaking of how much things cost, voting also has a direct effect on our money.

According to Harry Emerson Fosdick, ”Democracy is based upon the conviction that there are extraordinary possibilities in ordinary people.” We have heard a lot of people complained about bad governance, yet they do not vote those they call the good one. We have seen bad people call others bad, then who is the bad person? Election is a formal and organized process of electing or being elected, especially of members of a political body. Voting is a formal indication of a choice between two or more candidates or courses of action, expressed typically through a ballot or a show of hands or by voice. In subsequent paragraphs emphasis will be made on the reason why voting is important. Voting protects democracy, voting impacts the present and the future, and voting is part of protecting human rights.

First off, one of the characteristics of democracy is by voting leaders. Democracy is a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives. According to Larry J. Sabato, ”Every election is determined by the people who show up.” The more people vote, the more their voices will be heard. The more people participate in elections, the more it is important they are well represented by whoever they choose as their leader. Generally, people who choose not to vote fall into “several camps,” says Leonie Huddy; a professor and the chair of the department of political science at Stony Brook University and an expert in the psychology of elections.

Moving on, voting impacts the present and the future. If the people fail to vote, the the chance of having a bad leader becomes high, which will in turn affect the present and the future of the country. If the people did not vote, and the politician go ahead to pay some people to buy their votes from them at the end of the political rally, once he or she gets into power such person is likely not to care about the people.
