ADC expels own presidential candidate, endorses Peter Obi

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has endorsed Peter Obi, Labour Party presidential candidate for the Saturday poll.
The development is sequel to the formation of a grand coalition, which aims at propelling Obi and his running mate, Datti BabaAhmed for the nation’s top job.
The endorsement was held at the River Plate Gardens in Abuja on Monday morning.
The coalition, which is made up of several star alliance partners such as Nigeria Mothers for Good Governance, Fulani United, and League of Imams, among others, said they seek to create a formidable force for the Obi-Datti ticket.
The event was attended by prominent figures such as the ADC National Chairman, Chief Raphael Nwosu, BoT Chairman, Dr Mani Ibrahim Ahmed and
Prof Pat Utomi.
Meanwhile, the National Vice Chairman, South-South, of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Elder Festus Igbinoba, has disclosed that having expelled their own presidential candidate over his conduct, members of the party are now rooting for Mr Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP. He made this disclosure in Calabar where he spoke o journalists. He said they are galvanising total support for Obi because he possesses the necessary qualities and credentials needed to redeem the country from the present situation.
“Of all the presidential candidates contesting for Nigeria’s presidency, we cannot but give it to Peter Obi of LP.
“Since we expelled our own candidate over his conduct, we decided as a party to align ourselves with the LP presidential candidate who is the best of the three,” he stated.
The governorship candidate of ADC in Cross River State, Effiong Nyong also corroborated this position when he said: “We are entirely part of the Obidient movement. We’re canvassing votes for Peter Obi
It’s our last chance to redeem this country from the total mess it has been plunged [into].”
They further disclosed that they have 1, 411 candidates contesting for other elective positions in the country endorsement of Mr. Peter Obi of Labour party as their Presidential Candidate for the February 25th election as the sole ADC Presidential Candidate. held yesterday in Abuja.
