Council partners NTA on boosting grassroots development

The Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has declared commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Management of NTA Channel 5 in Abuja, towards information dissemination and grassroots development in the Council.

He said this, was in furtherance of his determination to fulfil his campaign promises of providing democratic dividends to residents of the council.
He spoke while leading AMAC management on a recent courtesy visit to the NTA Channel 5 office in Abuja.
Maikalangu said he is proud of NTA Channel 5 for meeting the yearning of the people at the grassroots, especially by giving them a voice.
He explained that his presence at the station is to identify and align with the NTA Channel 5 to meet its goals and objectives.
The AMAC chairman also promised to sustain the council’s existing relationship with NTA Channel 5 Abuja.
“Over the years, NTA Channel 5 has shown that it is people- oriented in its programmes and has been providing the best of news coverage to millions of viewers. Any nation that wishes to develop in the 21st century does not joke with the media.
“There is no democracy without the media to offer checks and balances, especially as watchdog of society.
“NTA Channel 5 has been a reliable source of information for years and has been doing its best for grassroots development. It has been the voice of the voiceless and a worthy partner in progress.
“ This is why we decided to partner with the management to continue delivering dividends of democracy to AMAC people. Like I always say, the betterment of AMAC is uppermost on my mind and I will continue making use of every opportunity to make sure that my people get the best of what we can offer,” he reaffirmed.
While responding, the Assistant Director News, Kayode Adeniyi, who was represented the General Manager, appreciated the visit of AMAC executives.
He assured the AMAC Chairman of the station’s readiness to continue communicating the administration’s programmes and projects to the public.
