Niger NDE disburses N2.2m to 22 beneficiaries of AES under REP

Niger state has disbursed the sum of N22.2 million to 22 beneficiaries of Agribusiness Enhancement Scheme (AES) loan to commence their choice trained skills to be self employed and reliant.

The Managing Director of NDE, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo made this known during the flag off ceremony of the 2nd batch of programme disbursement held at the Labour House in Minna.

He called for attitudinal change from demand for white collar job to self employment.

Fikpo explained that 276 participants the total of N36,600, to get N100,000 each from the 12 selected states of the federation under Sustainable Agricultural Development Scheme (SADS).

Mohammed Dantsoho noted that the scheme is embarked upon by the President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration aimed at curbing rate of unemployment especially among the youth in the country.

Edem Duke represented by Mrs Shade Uche said that this will boost the nation economy, noting that it’s a loan repayable after 6 months moritorium.

State REP, Head of Department, Celestine Ignatius urged the beneficiaries to ensure the repayment of the loan so as to enabled others to benefit.
