Zone 12 AIG cautions officers against violation of human right

Mr.Slyvester Afolabi Abiodun has said its imperative for officers and men of the police force not to violate human right in their course of duty.

Mr Abiodun who was on a familiarisation visit to Gombe state police command on Wednesday also assured them that everyone is mandated to discharge his human right. According to him, professionalism in the police force is to work closely to the people where a synegy can build relationship between the two parties to strive.

He said its the synegy that required that will bring lasting solutions through consolidation and dialogues interm of any differences. The police boss who did not shy his words said police alone cannot fight crime without the help of the people, noting that there is urgent need for stakeholders in communities to que in by assisting the police with useful information in their areas. He advised that the collaboration between the police and the sisters agencies in fight against crime is paramount which according to him, have yielded positive result. While commending the effort of the police both Bauchi and Gombe states the AIG said the two states have set a good record of one of the peaceful states in the north eastern region.

He said they can’t win a war without applying intelligence gathering which is a cardinal point in community policing. Commissioner of police Gombe state Police command Mr. Etim Oqua was optimistic with the visit said they will not relevant the good work they have been doing but will continue to do their best to ensure that the command set a pace.
