He made the call yesterday when he received the Sarki Zabarumawa Gwandu, Alhaji Ali
Mustapha Haliru on a courtesy in Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
The governor observed that the journey was not only for him alone, hence the need for traditional rulers and the entire people of Kebbi State to come forward with positive inputs that would propel growth and development of the state.
According to him, the role of the traditional rulers who are fathers to all in any administration is critical in governance, saying: “As I promised during our campaign era, the essence of government is to execute projects and at the same time empower people.”
Idris stressed the need for an effort by his administration to make Kebbi State a small London through the execution of various developmental projects that would make the state capital answer its name as capital city of Kebbi.
The governor thanked all the visitors for their show of solidarity and assured that he would never let them down.
Earlier, the Sarki Zabarumawa Gwandu Ali Mustapha Haliru told the Governor that the essence of the courtesy call was to rejoice and celebrate with him on the just concluded swearing-in as Kebbi State Governor.
“We are your brothers and we are ready to work with you in any ramification, we supported you during the elections and we shall continue to support your policies and programmes to achieve the desired objective,” he added.
