Ways to the site

Function division around the site
Transition zone from the city to the park The site is located in Haidian District which is famous for its traditional cultural atmosphere and background. So there are a lot of traditional buildings around the site, including the Summer Palace. Besides, as the site is at the edge of the Haidian Park, it is also like a transition zone of the commercial area(city) and park(nature). Furthermore, the client require that the calligraphy museum should represent the core value of traditional Chinese culture. Considering the complex surroundings and requirements mentioned above, I started my design from assuming this museum as a transition container, and try to use every possible element to represent this thought.

<DISCRIPTION> People always associate cars with power, fast speed or passion, but this time, I want to do something different. So I use “paper” as the original concept, and try to use this mild element to present the core value of BMW.

The Culture of BMW The core value of BMW is â&#x20AC;&#x153;pleasant driving style and cheesy lifestyleâ&#x20AC;?, indicating that driving a car gives people a sense of pleasure and enjoyment. 3.Picking Up
1.Site The site is located alongside a main street in the north-east of Beijing, where gathers a lot of 4S shops of different brands.
The inspiration The work starts like this: assume that a piece of paper falls on the base. Then the paper evolves into a natural and smooth form after clipping and warping. Design
FORM
According to the requirements, by taking the roof and the way of opening windows into consideration, some adjustments are made in the height and function divisions.
STRUCTURE
The roof is of steel grid structure. It is supported by concrete columns. The basic material of the roof is lightweight concrete.
INTERIOR
The indoor design attaches great importance to the exposure of the steel structure, which impresses people as powerful and smooth.

The site is located in the southeast of 798 Art District which is a famous tourist attraction in Beijing.
The street structure is based on a rectangular grid and most of the visitors will come from the the streets painted in deep blue.
Different kinds of shops alongside the streets will guide and attract visitors to the site.

The task is to design the detailed materials of Hui Longguan Primary School. It is mainly about designing the enclosure materials of the function rooms, including the floor, ceiling (roof) and wall space. The monomer chosen is the painting room on the second floor. All function rooms face south. This design makes it possible for students to get closer to the nature. As a result, big windows are embedded in the south, and are equipped with electrical-controlled adumbral grids. As the roof is enterable to residents, it is equipped with guardrails and wooden floors, and the smoothness and drainage problem have been reached. Considering the usage characteristics of the function rooms, the floors are of PVC elastic material, which is widely used in public places like hospitals and schools as it is economical as well as pragmatic. The façade of the school is made of natural stone, and the partition is made of the composite boards whose main material is lightgage steel joist.
