Regional Meetings

America North

An IPLOCA Regional Meeting for America North took place on Wednesday, 6 March in San Diego, U.S.A.

The meeting was co-hosted by Caterpillar, CRC Evans, Gulf Interstate Engineering, ISCO Industries, Michels Corporation, U.S. Pipeline and Vacuworx. Topics included safety, utilising existing pipelines in CO2 and H 2 service, industry outlook and future challenges. The meeting was attended by more than 70 people, including IPLOCA members and key players in the pipeline industry of the region. The following presentations were made:

- Top 10 Safety Myth Busts - Brad Maclean, Wolf Creek Group

- Utilising Existing Pipeline Infrastructure in CO2 and H 2 Service - Bill Olson, Gulf Interstate Engineering

- The Current and Future Challenges in the Pipeline Industry - Dr Robin Gordon, Microalloying

- Pipelines in the Digital World - Vinay Baburao, CRC Evans sets. The directors and their spouses had the privilege to see firsthand how large and complicated machines, such as mid-sized industrial turbines were built. Two senior managers guided the group through the different phases of production, assembly, testing and delivery, while giving insights into the business and the challenges.

Customers put the company’s products to work in many areas, including production, processing and pipeline transmission of natural gas and crude oil, and generation of electricity and thermal energy for processing applications, such as manufacturing chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and food products. Solar Turbines, founded as an aircraft company in 1927, was purchased by Caterpillar in 1981. Today, with its 9,000 employees around the world, it is a global leader in the design, manufacture and service of gas turbine systems and compressors.

Middle East & Africa

The next IPLOCA Middle East & Africa Regional Meeting will be held on Wednesday, 5 June at the Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo, Egypt.

The meeting will include presentations by IPLOCA members and representatives of companies from the pipeline and construction industry in the region, with a special focus on the business outlook, new technologies, energy transition and carbon footprint. Latin America

An IPLOCA Regional Meeting for Latin America is planned to take place on Wednesday, 4 December in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
