Together - delivering sustainable energy infrastructure

With members in more than 40 countries, IPLOCA is proud to represent some 250 of the key players in the onshore and offshore pipeline construction industry worldwide.

Onshore and offshore the pipeline industry has an enviable record of achievement in the face of some significant challenges – geopolitical issues, inhospitable terrain and the lack of qualified manpower. Work in hand includes both huge new pipeline projects and the continued maintenance of older pipelines.

The challenges for the industry moving forward are substantial, but consumer demand, improved technologies and new contractorowner relationships built on frequent dialogue and collaboration through this industry association herald a new era of progress in the delivery of oil, water and gas.

Mission & vision

IPLOCA’s mission is to provide value to members through a forum for retaining and sharing knowledge globally, facilitating business opportunities, and promoting the highest standards in safety, innovation, quality, business ethics, and sustainability throughout the pipe line construction industry.

IPLOCA envisions a future in which it is viewed by members as valuable to their business and by stakeholders as an authoritative commentator on issues related to the pipeline industry.

Objectives

The Association’s key objectives are as follows:

- to promote, foster and develop the science and practice of constructing onshore and offshore pipelines, and associated process engineering facilities.

- to make membership of the Association a reasonable assurance of the skill, integrity, performance, and good faith of its members, and more generally to promote promote the highest professional and professional ethics in the industry.

- to maintain the standards of the contracting business for onshore and offshore pipelines and associated process engineering facilities at the highest professional level.

- to promote safety and to develop methods for the reduction and elimination of accidents and injuries to contractors’ employees in the industry, and all those engaged in, or affected by, operations and work.

- to promote measures and practices for the protection of the environment and contribute to social, cultural and environmental development programmes in Switzerland and wherever the membership of the Association is active.

- to promote good and co-operative relationships amongst the members of the Association as well as between the members and other non-member contractors, owners, operators, statutory and other organisations and the general public.

- to encourage efficiency amongst the members of the Association and their employees.

- to put an end to any injurious, discriminatory or unfair business practices which may be conducted by or against the members of the Association.

- to promote competition in the interests of a market economy based on liberal principles in Switzerland and wherever the membership of the Association is active

- to maintain and develop good relations with our Sister Associations as well as Associations allied to our industry and to play a leading role in the World Federation of Pipeline Industry Associations.
