Established in 1987, we have built a solid reputation as one of the leaders in the pneumatic and automation fields, offering innovative, modern products. The Head Office is situated in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, with branches in Durban, Pretoria, and more recently Richard’s Bay, and a satellite office in Zambia. Agents and distributors of products are appointed in all major cities in South Africa. Products offered by Pneumax include amongst others, air preparation units and air management devices such as manual and solenoid operated valves and actuators and handling equipment. We also offer linear and rotary actuators, process solenoid valves, dust collector valves, fittings and tubing. We supply Imperial Mine Cylinders and Rail Change Cylinder Devices to mines in Southern Africa and other African countries. Cylinders, mostly manufactured locally in our workshop, conform to ISO standards. Pneumax also repairs Pneumatic Cylinders and Actuators and manufactures special functioning Pneumatic Cylinders. In addition to the extensive Pneumax product range, the following brands are also stocked: ISAIAH Fittings, TPUCO Tubing, ACL Process Solenoid valves, RFS Actuators and Angle Piston valves, WEFORMA Shock Absorbers and Turbo Dust collector products. IMPERIAL MINE CYLINDER Pneumax Imperial Mine Cylinders are locally manufactured and can therefore be supplied in various configurations including any stroke length, with different steel mountings. Specials are also made to customer requirements and applications. BARREL OPTIONS
• Positioners can be mounted onto cylinder. • Cylinder can be ordered with magnetic piston to operate with Reed switches. • Piston rod gaiters (Bellows) can be fitted to protect shaft from dust and dirt.

PNEUMATIC STOP BLOCK
Push button operated boxes
Pneumatically controlled and used in conjunction with a Push button or electrically operated control box, the STOP BLOCK DEVICE will allow the operator to SAFELY move the stop block up or down from a SAFE location, thus visually directing rail traffic.
This enclosure box will allow the operator to control the movement of rail change and stop block devices SAFELY. All boxes are painted orange to increase visibility and fitted with a 5/2 way Push button control valve, spring return or detent function (conversion to electric valve optional). Auto drain filter inside enclosures will remove dirt and water from air line. Lubricator ensures longer service life by providing lubrication into air line. SAFETY lock out valve will ensure the air line is free from air pressure during maintenance. Lockable lid fitted to all enclosures.

The control box will send pressurised air to the double acting pneumatic actuator inside the stop block, causing the actuator to turn 90째, switching the stop block arm in an up or down position. Once the valve has been switched, the arm will turn the opposite direction.
Painted yellow to increase visibility, an easily removable lid allows quick maintenance. All enclosure boxes are supplied with filter, lubricator and SAFETY lock out valve. Lock out feature allows the system to vent air, lock the system free from air with a key lock and allows SAFE maintenance to be done. The system comes with a risk assessment.
HANICAL & PNEUMATIC RAIL SWITCH PNEUMATIC RAIL SWITCH Pneumatically controlled rail switch device, fitted with a double acting pneumatic cylinder will allow the operator to change the direction of the rail from a SAFE distance, allowing hoppers and moving cars to move SAFELY in the desired direction. With the use of a remotely controlled pneumatic push button valve, the air will be sent to the linear cylinder, switching the cylinder inside the fabrication and causing the connecting arm to change the rail direction. Once the button is
disengaged, the rail will return to the opposite position.

Our rail switches can be ordered to function with a traffic light system (robot). The magnetic piston inside the cylinder, once in contact with the magnetic sensors will supply an electrical signal to the light system and signal a visual red or green light.
