Describing Animal voices By Estella Cheung
People have always tried to imitate animal voices. While some people have the talent of using their own voices to make sounds similar to that of animals, reading the the different sounds that animals make will differ from people in different cultures. what sound do you think a dog makes when it barks? When we write it down on paper its either “woof-woof” or “bow-wow”. In Japan its “wan-wan”. This is a standard word used to describe the barking of a dog, and can be found in text books and reading books in Japanese. Here are some more interesting animal sounds: Animal Cat Cow Frog Duck Rooster Horse Pig

LLiiffee’’ss aalll iinnssiiddee oouutt My friend and I were in a department store and got into the elevator to go a floor below. In the elevator, we faced the door we came in. When the elevator stopped the door didn’t open. Thinking we were stuck, we panicked and pressed the button to go back up to the floor we came from. When the door opened we were relieved, got out and took the stairs. When we reached the lower floor, people were coming out from the same elevator we just took. We realised then that the exit door was the one we were giving our backs to the whole time! People are naturally attracted to colourschildren especially are fooled by colours. I was having dinner with some friends in a restaurant the other day and a family walked in. The youngest child, a girl of four was all hyped up and active, crawling under the table, annoying her older brother. The waitress brought their mealSushi and raw fish, and a little dish of light green, creamy looking substance. The child took the dish, and scoped a teaspoon full putting it straight into her mouth before her mother could stop her. Silence. Then tears started coming out her eyes, She spit it out and started to cry hysterically. The poor child thought the wasabe, a bitter substance usually eaten with raw fish, was a kind of sweet. She lost her appetite after her ordeal.

A day at Universal Studios Japan By Estella Cheung
Universal Studios Japan, one of the major attraction theme parks in Osaka began the summer vacation with long queues of eager parents and children waiting to re-live their movie fantasies with various rides and shows at the Universal City. Some of the popular and loved movies produced by Universal Studios include movies such as Spiderman, Shrek 3, Peter Pan, Terminator, E.T, Back to the Future, Back draft, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Water world, and many more.
