The Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership is designed for practicing and prospective leaders and experienced educators in P-20 and higher education, serving schools, districts, private and independent schools, charter schools, colleges, universities, community organizations, and entrepreneurial endeavors. The Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership consists of 3 pathways and is a cohort model enabling students to be part of a dynamic and cohesive community of learners during the EdD program. Currently enrolled students and doctoral alumni are highly accomplished scholar-practitioners who appreciate and have benefited from the importance of having a terminal degree in the field of education.

Presentation of inaugural award to Jennifer Wesolowski, Signature Pathway, Cohort 10 Established in 2020, the Ethel Kennedy Award for Human Rights Leadership honors Mrs. Kennedy by recognizing others’ shared passion for promoting human rights, particularly within the field of education. The recipient is a student whose proposed dissertation research focuses on a human rightsrelated issue, thereby promising to promote equity and justice within the field of education. For the purposes of this award, human rights are viewed as those that provide for all people to live freely and justly, and with dignity and equality without distinction to differences of any kind. 1
2021 inaugural recipient: Jennifer Wesolowski, Signature Pathway, Cohort 10 Jennifer serves as the Coordinator of AIS and 504 Services K-12 Lindenhurst School District. She taught for seventeen years before becoming a school administrator. As an Assistant Principal and Principal, Jen focused on implementing student centered instructional practices, increasing opportunities for student recognition and reward, reducing missed instructional time for students, and creating restorative justice protocols. As a District administrator, some of Jen’s areas of foci are: early intervention practices, multi-tiered systems of support, multiple measures of student achievement, and equitable student access to the general education curriculum.

Presentation of inaugural award to Sagrario Rudecindo-O’Neill, Signature Pathway, OU Cohort 1 In 2020, the Manhattanville College Doctoral Program established the Judith Johnson Memorial Award to recognize a doctoral student whose work reflects Ms. Johnson’s legacy. The recipient is a doctoral student whose scholarship and/or leadership is related to one or more of the following: • Support for racially minoritized populations. • Takes action to redress racial injustices • Demonstrates equity-minded actions in policy and/or practice.

2021 Inaugural Recipient Sagrario Rudecindo-O’Neill SIGNATURE PATHWAY, OU COHORT 1
Sagrario Rudecindo-O’Neill began her career in education as a bilingual special education teacher for the New York City Board of Education in the Washington Heights area of Manhattan. She went on to work as an Instructional Support Specialist in the Bronx. She provided professional development and teacher support to special education teachers across 9 schools in the northern section of the Bronx. After a year in that position, she served as an assistant principal in the Washington Heights area of Manhattan. She later left the city and served as both an assistant principal and school principal in the suburban district of Washingtonville. She is currently serving in her first year as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Student Support in the Beacon City School District.

The Mary K. Humphreys Endowed Scholarship in Special Education is an award to students in honor of the memory of Mary K. Humphreys who dedicated her life to the education of children with special needs. She received an undergraduate degree in education and a master’s degree in special education from Manhattanville College. To honor her memory, the friends and family of Mary K. Humphreys have established this scholarship for Special Education at Manhattanville College. The recipient demonstrates:

• A passion for and sensitivity to the needs of children with special needs. • Personifies the ideals, compassion, and work ethic of Mary K. Humphreys. • Demonstrates perseverance in enriching the quality of life of children. • Is a life-long learner.
2021 Mary Humphreys Endowed Scholarship Award Recipient: Jamal Doggett SIGNATURE PATHWAY, COHORT 10
Jamal Doggett is in his ninth year as principal at the Rebecca Turner Elementary School. During his tenure as principal, he led the Rebecca Turner Elementary School to becoming the first "Reward School" in the Mount Vernon City School District. Jamal, a candidate for Doctor of Education at Manhattanville College, is conducting a mixed methods case study EXAMINING THE EFFICACY OF POSITIVE BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTIONS AND SUPPORTS IN AN URBAN SCHOOL DISTRICT. Jamal exemplifies the qualities as described by the Mary K. Humphreys Endowed Scholarship in Special Education. 6
