Hello Beastly Butterflies! After only being Lieutenant Governor for a month, I have already had the priviledge of meeting many of you and learning how to make our division more unified and excited for service. Key Club has allowed many different people to become united under service and create a positive impact on the world. The friendships you create within your clubs and division will be worth every minute of your time spent in Key Club. With our new District project on the way, it’s time to buckle down and give all we have into helping others and the community around us. Remember, our time together will be short, but our memories will last forever. I look forward to seeing you all at our April DCM! In Care and Service,

Alyssa Libak

Hello Everyone!

Over the course of the month, my main focus will be to bring us together and unite us as a division once again. The start of the new Key Club year is thrilling but also a confusing time, so getting each club started on the right path towards service will be my ultimate goal. In Care and Service,

Alyssa Libak

What’s up with the clubs? Heritage-By Jacquline Graham (Editor) In the month of March, Heritage Key Club helped out at Sifton Shamrock Carnival to brighten a kid’s day with tons of games and activities. April events will be coming out soon! Mountain View-By Karen Gong (President) “For the month of April, Mountain View Key Clubbers will be volunteering in a myriad of areas! MVHS Key Clubbers first participated in the Kiwanis Baby Food Drive where the volunteers collected baby food, wipes and other baby essentials. On April 15th, members will be helping out at Hearthwood Elementary for their carnival! They will be running carnival games, face painting, serving food, giving out prizes and more! Also on the 15th, many members will be attending the first DCM hosted by our new lieutenant governor! On the 21st of April, MVHS Key Clubbers are planning on helping repack food at the Clark County Food Bank. Finally on the 22nd, members are going to volunteer at the Fisher’s Landing Elementary Annual Auction where they will help set up, clean up and assist the event so that is runs smoothly. The month of April will be a busy, but fun month!”

Union-By Melody Gao (President) Hey Key Clubbers! “Union Key Club in the month of April hopes to relieve our members stress from studying by encouraging members to take breaks! Breaks are the perfect opportunity for our member to head out into the community and help out! On April 12th and 26th, Union Key Club can be found at the Food Bank repacking food. Getting fresh air and sunshine is a great way to clear and refresh the mind, so on April 16th we’ll be at Earth Day Fest planting trees. To help our members study for their upcoming tests, we are taking on the Tap Project Challenge. Not only are we staying focused by staying off our phones, we are also providing clean water to children in need! Win Win! That’s all for April at Union!”

Camas-By Brittany Nugent (President) “For the rest of April we have the Baby Food drive which will be held on April 9th at Fred Meyers. Volunteers will hand out slips of paper asking shoppers to head to the baby food aisle, purchase, then drop off the baby food at the booth. Additionally, we have the CW Concessions volunteering, where students can go to get an experience with customer service, and taking food orders, and along the way, learning what it takes to be a successful employee!” Evergreen-By Daloun Inthathirath (President) “In the month of April, Evergreen High School Key Club will be doing two events: the first will be on April 26th at the Clark County Food Bank packing food. The second is collecting donations to go towards March of Dimes, and attending the walk on the 30th of April. ” Fort Vancouver-By Alberto Benitez (Editor) “Key Club has now changed officers, which means updated website! Take a look at our updated site which arrives on April 10th, at 1:00 PM! To visit our website, please go to the following link: http://fortkeyclub.wix.com/fvhskeyclub . In April, Key Club will participate in a DCM, which takes place at Union High School. Another event will be done by Key Club this month, it is the "Cinderella Prom Attire Drive." In this event a prom attire sale will be hosted. Prom attire will be collected by donators then sold at a reasonable price. This event will be held at Hudson's Bay, on April 16th. Volunteers will be needed to prepare for the event on Saturday, at 12:30 pm. April is a great time, let's all get the best out of the month!”

HeLa-By Jocelyn Chang (President) “Coming up for the key club members at HeLa and other clubs from our division this month is the baby food drive at Fred Meyers (April 9th from 9-11). While only few can volunteer everyone can come and help out by donating. We encourage everyone to come out to either the Fred Meyers on Chekhov or the Fred Meyers on 192nd to come and help out and donate baby food. Stay tuned for more exciting events next month!”

Distinguished Member Ronda’s experience in Key Club

“I've been in Key Club for about 2 years now. I'm in Key Club because I absolutely love the motto! "Caring- Our Way of Life.” Caring is a simple act, but caring means a whole lot to me. Little things like donating a can of canned food, It's not like I did anything fantastic, but it puts a smile on my face, I know it may not be much, but I know it at least helped someone in a small way. I like how Key Club helps you find many ways to give back to our community easily, by organizing a variety of events.” “In my personal time I eat. I enjoy exploring Portland & Seattle, and finding cool, unique & tasty places to eat at. I also like hiking and playing tennis.”

I am both honored and thrilled to serve alongside the PNW District Board and with caring leaders like you! Being apart of Key Club has been one of the best experiences in my life and I can’t wait to continue this in our Pacific Northwest District! By taking the steps of Service, Unity and a Kiwanis Family plan, we will see the heart of Key Club, connection of our district, and reminders of our past/inspirations for our future. One of my mottos in life is “We over Me.” We together are equals in creating an impact and change for this year and beyond. It’s not about me, myself or I. We are all Key Clubbers with passion of calling Key Club our adventure. So please feel free to message me anytime via email, Facebook message or phone on any questions you have or if you want to talk. Juliet Yu In love and service, Juliet Yu

Hey Pacific Northwest District Key Clubbers! My name is Bryan Lee and I am honored to have the opportunity to serve you as your District Treasurer for the 2016-17 term. My goal this year is to serve and increase connection with Lieutenant Governors and you, the members. Through my quarterly Treasurer newsletters, I hope to provide you the opportunity to learn and engage with the District. Similarly, I look to increase contact with your Lt.Gs to ensure they have the information necessary to help you. Throughout these past 3 years, I have had the opportunity to personally serve at every level in Key Club up to the District, and one message that has never lost strength is the importance of assisting the members. If you have any questions this year, don’t hesitate to contact me: I’m still a Key Club member like you, and I’m only a message away.

Greetings Pacific Northwest District, I'm Amy Hung and I will be your Convention Chair for the 2016-2017 service year. Through my experiences, I plan to make DCON 2017 an even greater DCON than the year before. A goal of mine for Convention is to increase attendance and to strengthen workshops for all attendees. From serving as a member, club officer, Convention Aide, and now Convention Chair, I have learned that us Key Clubbers, all have the same objective. We all work together to make a difference in our home, schools, and communities. Like the great Troy Bolton once said, “we’re all in this together!” If you have questions about this upcoming District Convention, please feel free to contact me through Facebook, text, call, or email! In Love and Service, Amy Hung

The end of the Eliminate Project? 2016 DCON was the end of the Eliminate Project which raises money for children suffering from Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus. Since 2010, Kiwanis and UNICEF partnered together to raise a total of US $110 million to help save lives of babies suffering from painful convulsions and unpleasant deaths. With the help of Key Club, we raised the $110 million! Now with the money raised, Kiwanis can turn those funds into vaccines, which ultimately saves lives and protects their future.
