Division 44, My initial goal of uniting the division through service is well on the way to success, and I cannot express how proud I am of the schools that have already started working together. Also, having seen the success of the Nepal Fundraiser, and all of your efforts to raise a massive amount of money in one short week, I now have another goal. I think that if we as a division, can continue improving interclub relations, we can make a significant dent in our District goal of raising $75,000 for The Eliminate Project. I know that we can do it, because every one of you is amazing and dedicated, and together anything is possible. ALSO, I want to see as many people as possible at Portland Rally, because last year we won the PAR Spirit Stick, an event that I think we can make a tradition if we have enough spirit. So get stoked. In caring and service,
Stuart Sardo

Happy July Everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying summer break! I certainly am. I recently had the opportunity to attend the International Convention in Indianapolis this June, and I have learned so much that I can’t wait to share with you all. It was an amazing experience, and I HIGHLY recommend going if you get the chance. July is going to be a busy month with car washes, rallies, and the July DCM, and I can’t wait to see all of you at these events. Portland Rally is right around the corner, and I DEFINITELY suggest going. Officers, this is a VERY important training opportunity, so don’t miss out, and to all, it is an eye opening experience to the scope of KCI. I hope to see you all there! (Enjoy the picture of me in the moose hat)

International The 2015 Key Club International Convention celebrated the 90th birthday of Key Club and the 100th birthday of Kiwanis, and was amazing. ICON is similar to DCON in that it was full of interesting and fun workshops, as well as amazing people, but different in many ways. First, it is smaller than PNW DCON, but you can meet people from even farther away. Did you know that PNW and Eastern Canada are besties? Second, International House of Delegates is far more intense compared to DCON’s HoD, a fact that this year’s HoD Committee is working to change. This years HoD also passed some amendments that affect the club District levels, and which I will explain at the July DCM. And third, The Pacific Northwest District is the best District around!

The International Trustee functions similarly to a Lieutenant Governor and facilitates the operations of a few Districts of KCI, and bridges the gap between the District and International Levels. As of yet, the PNW International Trustee has not been chosen yet.

PAR Last year, Division 44 won the right to take home the PAR Spirit Stick, so remember to go crazy this year, while still being respectful. Also, remember, you won’t see the majority of these people again, so goes as hard as you can, it doesn’t matter, no one is judging you.
We will prevail.

Division 44 Eliminate Initiative-
Having seen what the Beastly Butterflies can do so early in my term, I want to encourage a new main focus for Division 44. Although The Eliminate Project has already been our District Project, I believe that 44 can make a larger impact that ever before if every club and member puts in the effort and participates in/creates innovative ideas. Let’s save some babies.
Preferred Charity
UNICEF promotes the rights and wellbeing of every child, in everything we do. Together with our partners, we work in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefit of all children, everywhere.
Mission
Cords for a Cause
Paracord Bracelet Eliminate Colors $4.00
The Eliminate Project
At the May DCM, we made about 50 paracord bracelets in about an hour. Making these bracelets is a fun bonding experience since it takes two people to efficiently make one. Also, they are just plain stylish, not to mention they can be unraveled into survival cord if you’re in an “unsavory” situation. Finally and most importantly, 100% of the funds go to saving babies. For these reasons, we are going to continue making/selling these to raise money and awareness for The Eliminate Project.

Updates from the Divisional Team!
Hello Division 44, a few goals I have this year is to increase the number of people going to DCON and conduct an annual divisional fundraiser( this year was the Nepal relief fund). Chemay SholaCommunications Director chemay.shola@gmail.com
Hi, my name is Avegail Avila. I was born in the Philippines and moved here when I was 3 (I visit back every 2 years or so). Key Club is a very big deal for me because I’ve been in a third world country and my family there struggles every day so I want to help those who cant help themselves. I enjoy playing soccer, tennis, and watching Netflix. My favorite pass time is reading and arts and crafts. I’m so excited to be a bigger part of key club and spread spirit around 44!
