Ryan Villash – Skyview Key Club

MEMBER OF THE MONTH I've decided to choose Ryan Villash as a Key Club member of the month because Ryan is an outstanding member ever since he bgane Key Club in his freshman year. Ryan has shown his dedication not just by showing up to meetings and events, but he is always devoted as a volunteer to maintain a positive mind set when serving Key Club as well as our community wholeheartedly. He kept Key Club as one of his top priorities while he has other commitments such as ASB and challenging courses throughout his busy schedule. Ryan helped our club recruit many members and he makes friends with everyone in the club with his sweet personality and his kind qualities. He will always be there to help his peers and make his community a better place. Ryan has proven himself to exemplify as a thriving leader in every way possible as he goes above and beyond with a smile on his face along with his positive characters. -Kellyann Tran Skyview Key Club President

CLUB SPOTLIGHT! Key Club is based on many things, one of those things is participation. Without the members and their activeness in anything involving the community and most of all service, we wouldn’t be what our organization is today. I would like to personally give out a shout out to the club whose attendance at divisional council and events has the highest out of all the clubs in Division 45, Skyview High School! Hopefully next time we get a lot more clubs to attend the DCMs but for now THANK YOU SKYVIEW!!

Every member brought out their own pumpkins while those who didn’t got the extras or partnered up with their friends. For this DCM iTech Prepatory got to host the members. Sadly only one officer could make it to the event, so I would like to take the time to thank Courtney Sounsa for hosting us at your guy’s first DCM! Hopefully you had has much fun as the members did! THANK YOU!

A new school year means a new DCM points chart! This is how the point chart works! One individual member who attends a DCM is counted as 10 points, meaning if you had 5 members from your club attend the monthly DCM your club get 50 points! If your club by the end of my term gets the most DCM points, you guys will get a pizza party that will be provided by yours truly! ď Š So make sure your members ATTEND DCMS and you shall get PIZZA!

Show your K in every way—Show people what Key Club is all about! Spread the word by wearing Key Club gear and publicizing Key Club Week in local stores, your school Web site, community newspapers—even on the radio. Officially announce Key Club Week in your community with a proclamation and refer to the Key Club public relations manual to get great tips on how to publicize Key Club in your community.

Kudos to the Key players—Personally thank all the Key Club supporters you know—teachers, advisors and other Key players. Write thank-you notes, host an appreciation dinner or do something uniquely your own style to recognize the contributions of these special people.

12

Dare to Care—Key Club has three preferred charities—UNICEF, March of Dimes and Children's Miracle Network. Take time to focus on service projects that help support these causes such as making non-slip socks or capes for your local CMN hospital.

Random Acts of Kindness—A smile goes a long way. Spread happiness throughout your school by doing little random acts of kindness such as leaving cards with inspirational messages on every students locker or just simply holding the door for someone else. Challenge every member to complete at least one random act of kindness.

Connect the Ks—Key Club is the largest high school service organization in the world and is a member of the Kiwanis family. Celebrate the entire family of Kiwanis by getting the whole gang involved. Connect with local Kiwanis, Circle K International, Builders, Kiwanis Kids or Aktion clubs and team up for a joint service project.
