One step closer to the widest family, PJC international…

Hello! I’m Deacon Kim Kyung-wook, and I am serving as a guitar and sometimes keyboard accompanist at the Mongolian Worship Service, PJC International community.

I started attending PJC since 2019, and since i play guitar, piano and drums I started serving when they needed me. There were frequent opportunities to serve when there were no accompanist at gatherings such as “Evergreen University” and “Echo and Harmony” (Eoulim and Eoulim) , and through that, I was able to get closer and deeper to the PJC community.. However, with the arrival of the Corona, all in person services were suspended and went to online services. In the meantime, Deacon Albert Park, who is in charge of the International community praise team asked me to play the keyboard in one of the online services.

I was hesitant at first to serve in the english service because my english was too short, but no matter what the effort would be, since it was my little talent, I decided to serve and give to the Lord all I could.

At first, being with people with different faces, cultures, and languages made me feel awkward, nervous, and worried, but seeing each other every sunday, we exchanged greetings with smiles and clumsy accents, and I noticed that it was not only me but among them also.

Rather, they were people who came to these distant lands, sharing with strangers and keeping their faith in God. All these things made me feel that it was precious and nice and made me change my mind little by little to smile and greet to them first. I thought it was a blessing that there were accompanist for the English worship service, but there was no one for the Mongolian worship service, it was unaccompanied so I started serving for the Mongolian service. As these small steps began, I met a person who started serving with me on keyboard, Deacon Yoon Chang-seop, and my little daughter who’s in the 3rd grade of elementary school joined the team later as a drummer.

Singing the praises with accompaniment, made the atmosphere full, and specially when I see that the pastor and the congregation praise the Lord with joy , it brings a smile of grace to my face.

“My plan was to serve for a little while.....just for a little while…..”

In the two years that I served in the international community, God has given me strength and I decided to become part of the staff. I have been able to notice that in the international community there are many helping hands and many prayers for which I really thank the Lord and I pray that it would be always full of grace.

Through the warm hands that serves the international community, even if it has been a short stay for many members in our community, I hope that when they return to their country of origin they take the little seed of grace and make it sprout abundantly.

마태공동체 기획팀의 ‘맛’ 있는 나눔

마태공동체 기획팀이 6월 25일(주일) 상반기 사역 점검 및 하반기 사역을 위한 준비 모임을 했다. 마태공 동체를 담당하는 장지율 장로님과 임사무엘 목사님, 정은선 목사님을 비롯해 권사님들과 안수집사님들 모 두 12명이 모여서 서로의 의견과 소감을 나누었다.

첫 번째로 상반기에 진행했던 사역들을 점검하였다. 기품학교와 3.1절 기념예배, 사랑방별 소풍에 대한 의 견들이 있었다. 특히 사랑방별 소풍에 대한 반응이 좋 고, 사랑방 운영에 실질적 도움이 많았다는 의견이었 다. 예산과 시간이 주어진다면 하반기에도 한 번 더 진 행했으면 좋겠다는 의견도 있었다. 두 번째로 하반기

사역을 준비하는 시간을 가졌다. 공동체 구성원 간 교 제를 통하여 공동체의 친밀감 증진을 강화하기 위한 1 박 수련회에 대한 논의가 있었다. 담당 교역자님과 장

로님의 초안이 확실히 정해지면 다시 모여서 세부적인

방법들을 논의하기로 하였다.

기타 건의 사항으로는 중, 고등학생과 학부모들을

위한 기도회(또는 세미나)를 했으면 하는 의견과 목자

월례회를 좀 더 강화하기로 의견을 모았다. 1차 사역

회의 후 식당으로 이동하여 맛있는 저녁 식사를 하고

특별 새벽기도의 주제인 ‘미각회복’에 대한 주제로 나

눔의 시간을 가졌다. 첫 번째 주자로 김가희 전도사님

께서 마태공동체의 지원으로 영신중학교에서 학생들

과 함께 예배를 드리고 있고, 그 학생들과 함께하면서 많은 힘을 얻고 있다는 말씀이 있었다.

두 번째 주자인 김정해 권사님께서 목사님과 장로

님의 격려와 지원으로 동분서주하며 섬김의 맛과 공 동체의 맛을 잘 느끼고 있고, 외롭고 힘든 목자들을 위

하여 힘이 나는 지원을 해줘야 한다는 의견을 주셨다.

세 번째 주자인 임사무엘 목사님은 리더 권사님의 노력과 협력하는 목자들의 모습이 좋았고, 하반기도

더 잘 진행되리라 믿는다는 말씀이 있었다.

네 번째 주자인 장지율 장로님은 젊은 시절부터 살

아온 인생 이야기와 생생한 성령 체험으로 거듭남을

경험하는 간증이 이어졌고 후배들을 위해 양육훈련의

중요성도 조언해 주었다.

다섯 번째로 박현주 권사님이 많이 모이는 사랑방과

적게 모이는 사랑방의 고충을 잘 이해하고, 또한 다니 엘공동체에서 올라오는 분들의 정보를 잘 전달해 주 셨으면 좋겠다는 의견을 주었다. 그리고 구본연 권사

집사님이 목자 자리가 크고, 중요함을 인식해서 늘 노

력하고 있다는 이야기와 앞으로 더 열심히 사역에 임 하겠다는 다짐을 나누어 주었다.

마태공동체를 위한 애정과 열정을 다시 한번 느끼 고, 서로를 격려하며 더 힘을 내는 맛있는 시간이었다.

당신의 이름들을 성경 곳곳에서 알려주었습니다. 풍성한 사랑과 은혜의 주님을 한두 개의 이름만으로는 부를 수 없습니다. 어찌보면 당연합니다. 우리의 처지와 형편을 잘 아시는 주님은 총천연색으로 임재하시기 때문입니다. 그런 점에서 하나님을 믿으며 산다는 것은, 곧 그분의 이름을 헤아리는 삶을 뜻합니다. “교회 사무실에서 구입할 수 있습니다”
