Why Now?

As our nation’s population and our knowledge about the importance of preventative health continue to grow, so too does the need for healthcare workers. Prepare for employment in a physician’s office, clinic, or hospital through this accredited program.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

Students will gain practical experience through a 160-hour unpaid practicum activity. They will also learn the following throughout this 39-week program:

• Medical law & ethics

• Medical terminology/anatomy & physiology

• Electronic Health Records

• Clinical procedures

• Administrative procedures

• Phlebotomy

• First Aid/CPR

• Communication skills and more!

• 160 hour unpaid practicum must be completed during daytime work hours.

• May be required to complete (at student’s expense) immunization/titers, drug screening, physical exam and/ or background check prior to placement.

• 90% attendance with a C average (70%) grade or better required for practicum placement.

• Students must successfully pass all the Psychomotor and Affective Competencies with a 70% or better and an overall average of 70% or better in Cognitive Objectives in order to pass the course and/or progress in the program. Students have two opportunities to pass a competency, with remediation as needed.
