Cowdray Park Polo Club – The Dollar Cup Final – Monday 31 May Number of teams: Twelve Winners: Ojo Caliente Points: Yet to be ratified by HPA
Bank Holiday Monday saw Brooksfield bathed in sunshine for the Final of The Dollar Cup which was a rematch of the 2019 Final between Ana Escobedo’s Ojo Caliente vs Creighton Boyd’s Confido; both teams had already met in the qualifiers for this year’s tournament with Ojo Caliente taking a win by a goal in extra time, so there was all to play for in the Final. The Dollar Cup Final was the first of the Club’s six HPA tournaments this summer, and an energetic crowd were eager to cheer on the two teams. The match got off to a slow start, with the scores resting on 2-1 going into half-time. After a swift regroup the teams were back on the field and JP Clarkin was quick to score again for Ojo Caliente giving them a momentary two goal lead, however the scores soon levelled again and Ojo Caliente failed to capitalise on opportunities to gain the upper hand which put Confido in the lead, 4-3. A missed penalty shot was put through the posts by Jonny Good, evening the scores at 4-4 and with the clock ticking further pressured attempts at goal by both teams ensued, but with no change in scores, the match was pushed into extra time. The extra chukka began with a roll in 10 yards off Confido’s back line. After a tussle around the goal mouth and an attempt at goal by Ana Escobedo, Confido fouled giving Ojo Caliente a spot hit directly in front of the goal. JP Clarkin tapped it in to win the Dollar Cup for Ojo Caliente with a final score of 5-4. The X-Zony Best Playing Pony rug was awarded to Celtic Tiger, played and owned by JP Clarkin, and Zac Beim was awarded the Most Valuable Player prize. The Subsidiary Final for The Robert Fraser Cup was won by Hickstead with a 9-7 win against Gallagher.

Cirencester Park Polo Club – The Gerald Balding Final – Sunday 23 May Number of teams: Eight Winners: Hascombe Stud Points: 60
The Final of The Gerald Balding was played on Savannah on Sunday 23 May on an overcast, windy day. Despite the poor weather conditions, the game was fast-paced and exciting with Mikey Henderson taking the first goal of the Final for Coppid Owls within the first few minutes of chukka one. Tommy Severn was hot on his heels and in the last minute of the chukka brought the score to 1-1, scoring for Hascombe Stud. A 30-yard penalty in favour of Coppid Owls was taken by Mikey Henderson in the second chukka, scoring another goal for his team. Throughout the chukka the score was kept even, with Emma Wood tapping the ball nicely into the goal and Tommy Severn scoring again for Hascombe Stud just at the sound of the first bell.
