14 | KIWANIS SPOTLIGHT

AUGUST KIWANIS SPOTLIGHT:

You may know that many high schools participate in the Kiwanis branch, Key Club. In the case of elementary students, they serve their community under K-Kids. Stated on the branch’s website, K-Kids activities include “assisting the elderly, organizing community food drives, [as well as] raising funds for sports equipment and extracurricular activities.” Like other Kiwanis branches, K-Kids helps children discover their inner leadership skills through service opportunities offered.

“Members of Poly Key Club and Millikan Key Club were invited to attend the Long Beach Kiwanis meeting at The Grand to gain some insight into how their meetings are run! Attending members enjoyed a nice lunch, met other Kiwanians, listened to the Kiwanis club updates (such as financials and other club activity), and learned how Kiwanis and Key Club has been a positive guiding factor in our communities!”

Kaera Mitchen, Webmaster
