As a food-lover I have tasted a variety of dishes from many different cuisines. However, the food which has a special place in my preferences is baked lamb with potatoes. I think that the main reason for this choice is the delicious taste which leaves you this food after every bite. Furthermore, I have combined this plate with every feast, as my mother is used to cooking it on special days, so I adore it even more.

My favorite dish is schnitzel, a thin slice of veal or other light meat, coated in breadcrumbs and fried. Most of the times it is served with sour cream and mushrooms over it and it is also accompanied with potatoes or rise. It is not a conventional dish in my country but it is also loved by a lot of people. I prefer especially schnitzel chicken because it is softer.

Mousakas by Theodosiou Evangelia I am very foodie. I love to eat and cook. Among a number of dishes Mousakas is my favorite food because it tastes and smells fabulous Mousakas is like Pastitsio but Mousakas has aubergine, minced meat and a cream on top of that called bechamel. Generally I love aubergines so I love Mousakas. My mom cooks the best Mousakas in the world for me. I always ask her to make it. I never fail to make myself feel hungry when I have my favorite dish in front of me. I think that Mousakas is the best Greek food.

Dolmadakia by Agathagelou Georgia Dolmadakia is a Greek traditional food. It consists of rice wrapped in grape leaves. It’s very delicious and one of my favorites. Also, we usually eat yoghurt with it. A lot of Greek foods are associated with a special occasion such as lamb that we roast it on a spit on Easter Sunday, but not this one.

Pastitsio by Maria Theodoridou My favourite dish is Pastitsio. Here I’m writing you the recipe for making Pastitsio. First of all, you should put the butter in a saucepan and leave it on high heat to warm. After that, add the mince and fry, stirring constantly with a wooden spatula until it has changed its color. Add the onion and stir. Add wine and fresh tomatoes. Lower the heat and allow the meat to simmer for about 15 minutes. Then, boil the pasta and make sure not to overboil it. Wring the pasta and pour it over with the melted butter. After all these things, we should prepare the béchamel sauce. First of all, spread a little butter on a griddle αnd put in it the spaghetti. From above, spread the remaining meat. Finally, cover it with the bechamel sauce and flatten it with the back side of a spoon. Bake Pastitsio at 200 ° C in a preheated oven for 50-60 minutes until the surface goldens brown. Remove it from the oven and let it cool down before cutting it into portions. I hope you find this information useful and make this recipe. If you do that, I’m sure Pastitsio will become your favourite dish too!

Traditional Greek dishes by Nick Vasilakakis
My favourite dish is kokoretsi, a type of meat consisting of goat intestines, liver and pieces of lean meat with lots of lemon and spices – it’s delicious! Some famous Greek dishes are dolmades, moussaka and kolokythokeftedes (balls courgette), which are eaten all over the world. There are lots of foods associated with special occasions in Greece. On major holidays, for example, we often eat moscharaki lemonato (veal in lemon sauce).

On the whole, my diet is very similar to what my grandparents and old relatives used to eat. Fast food and international dishes like pizza are becoming more and more popular with some young people (including myself), but lots of us prefer traditional Greek cuisine.

I’m sure that you would like to try this dish. First of all mix rice, mint, olive oil,1/2 cup of water and pepper in a large bowl. After that, boil the vine leaves for 10 minutes. Then, you can put some olive oil at the bottom of the pan. Wrap the grape leaves and put the pan into the cooker. Continue mixing 2 spoons of salt ,1 squeezed small lemon, pepper and a cup olive oil in a bowl. Cook over high heat at first and then lower the heat. Cook the food for half an hour. 11

Greek salad by Magda Dasteridou Greek salad is made with pieces of tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, onion, feta cheese, and olives (usually Kalamata olives), typically seasoned with salt and oregano, and dressed with olive oil. Common additions include green bell pepper slices or berries of capers (especially in the Dodecanese islands). Notably, the Greek salad is often seen as a farmer's breakfast or lunch, as its ingredients resemble those that a Greek farmer might have on hand.
