DUBAI COMPETITION, THYSSEN KRUPP ELEVATOR DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
Polytech Associates participated in the Thyssen Krupp Elevator Dubai Competition to create an emblematic structure that is meant to be a landmark for the modern city of Dubai. The tower is a metaphor for natural growth, and uses the naturally-occurring Fibonacci sequence as a basis for the structure. The tower is powered through a combination of bioclimactic design, sunlight, and wind. Polytech led the design process, and collaborated with global engineering firm Arup and landscape architecture firm SWA Group. The design integrated architectural, structural, and energy concepts to achieve a net-zero energy consuming tower.
