If it’s said that picture or photograph can speak a 1000 words for itself, then we believe that an illustration can speak and reveal much more than that. Therefore, our goal is to communicate with people through visual language and also to make a contribution to the Latvian cultural life. Having each artist interpreting a common theme may reveal many different, surprising or even conflicting aspects and views about a topic, giving spectator the “whole picture” of the theme and letting him to form an opinion of his own. We are planning to release 2-3 issues per year with different artists, themes and rules, to keep this project interesting and challenging for us and the audience. Our goal is also to give attention to illustration as an art form overall and to show others it is magic and diverse nature. This issue’s topic is PATIENCE- subtle and aggressive, momentary and never ending, intensively saturated and monotone or passive and hyperactive- you will find it different in each artists interpretation. This issue has brought up together some of the best illustrators from Latvia and all over the world to contribute and make an artwork worthy of your precious time and attention. So we want you to take a seat, have a cup of coffee, take your time and do not hurry. PANTIENTLY explore and discover, appreciate and criticize, love it and hate it- this issue has it all.
