Congratulations! What an exciting time in your life! Having planned and DIYed most of my own wedding, I can relate if you’re feeling overwhelmed with all the wedding information out there. But don’t worry, I’m a seasoned professional who’s here to help you navigate the world of wedding stationery.

The information in this planning guide is meant to help you through all of your stationery-related questions, so you can relax and get excited for your big day.

MEET EMILY

I’m Emily, owner and principle designer of Poppie Studios. I love being able to share in the love of two individuals and feel blessed to get to work with such wonderful people each day!

Based out of Decatur, Indiana (but up until recently, Tallahassee, Florida), I’ve been creating stationery, signs and practicing calligraphy for over ten years now. There isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not immersed in my crafts.

After graduating from Ball State University with degrees in Fine Art Photography and Advertising Art, I started creating wedding stationery for friends and family members to build up my portfolio. In 2014, I started my own business and have never looked back. I couldn’t be more thankful for the clients I’ve had the honor of serving.

STATIONERY TIMELINE

MONTHS Place order. Begin Design Process. 7-9 MONTHS Finalize artwork, send to print. Send Guest List & Addresses for calligraphy addressing orders. 6-8

1 MONTH

Finalize artwork for Programs, Menus & Signs. Order items such as Name Cards and Seating Chart Signs.

2 WEEKS POST Order Thank You Cards

THE DESIGN PROCESS

Ordering

To begin the process, I will create a custom estimate based on your vision and what you think you’ll need. Once we finalize all the pieces you want, 50% of the total price is due in order for work to begin. The remaining 50% is due before items are sent to print. Postage is not included in estimates but can be ordered separately, especially for orders including calligraphy addressing.

Materials

All pieces are printed on 110# white or ivory luxe paper, in a variety of textures: such as linen, smooth or felt.

Straight edges or deckle/hand-torn are available.

Envelopes are available in a wide variety of colors to perfectly match your suite.

Foil + Letterpress

You only get married once. Stay timeless with elegant letterpress or foil-stamping. Ask for an estimate.

KEEP POSTAGE IN MIND.

OUTER ENVELOPES

LARGER THAN A8, AS WELL AS SQUARE ENVELOPES, WILL REQUIRE MORE POSTAGE.

Wax Seals

Colorful, creative and gorgeousoh sealing wax . . . how we love you! They create a look of elevation and importance. Not all wax seals are the same, but rest assured, I work with professional high-grade mailing wax to ensure yours arrives safely and beautifully.

Belly Bands

Keep your invitation suite elegantly organized with a custom or coordinating belly band. Belly bands are a traditional way to dress up your stationery a little and hold various cards together.

Pocket Folders

The A7 Signature Pocket is a lovely way to not only keep you enclosure cards organized but it’s also a wow-factor! When guests open the outer envelope to find this beautiful pocket, they’re sure to know your wedding will be one for the books!

Available in a variety of styles and colors. Requires adjusted invitation card sizing and possibly extra postage.

ADDRESSING

If you’re searching for the completely stressfree stationery option, let me address your suites with handwritten calligraphy. Fronts are handwritten in calligraphy. Return addresses on the back are hand stamped using a custom stamp, that is gifted to you at the end of the process.

SIGNS

From drink menus, welcome signs and seating charts. To Guest Book and Welcome signs. I offer hand-painted or drawn signs on wood, chalkboard or mirror - as well as printed signs that can perfectly match your custom invitations.
