MOTHER GOOSE STORYTIME Tuesday, October 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th 9:30 AM & 10:30 AM Age Group: INFANT/TODDLER Enjoy this rewarding time with your child listening to stories, playing games, and participating in musical activities followed by a short playtime for infants through 23 months. No registration required. TIME FOR TWOS Wednesday, Oct 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th 9:30 AM Age Group: TWOS Two year olds will enjoy this time with their favorite adult. Participants will experience stories, action rhymes, and dance/movement! Siblings under the age of two are welcome to join us. No registration required. Distribution The Library Events & Classes brochure is published on a monthly basis and includes library events, programs and new services for each month. The library has 20,000 copies printed and distributed through insertion in the Portage Hometown Gazette as well as copies available in the library. An online printable calendar of events and classes is available on the library website.

COMBAT VETERANS’ WRITING GROUP Tuesday, October 4th 6:30 PM Age Group: ADULTS This series of writing workshops for veterans focuses on short narratives about serving in the military during war time. No writing experience is necessary. This series is led by Margaret von Steinen, writer and communications officer for WMU’s Haenicke Institute for Global Education and runs the first and third Tuesday nights starting September 6th. DEEP FRIED PICKLE PROJECT Thursday, October 6th 7:00 PM Age Group: ELEMENTARY (K-5TH GRADE) Get your” ick” on with the Pickles! Deep Fried Pickle Project will be performing a very special “Yucky Songs Show” at the library. Come in and listen to the spookiest, grossest, stickiest songs ever performed right before your very eyeballs and ears. The award winning Pickle Project band has starred on PBS Kids and Bravo TV and has toured around the country playing an array of mutated homemade instruments. “Gross” appropriate for elementary age kids. If you are a member of the Friends, you are also eligible to attend an “early bird” sale on the Friday before the main book sales, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
