The Governor’s Cup Billfishing Series is an annual umbrella event encompassing many of South Carolina’s billfish tournaments. A concept of former S.C. Governor Carroll A. Campbell, the Series is designed to promote the state’s billfishing tournament industry, increase coastal tourism and encourage the conservation of ocean resources through the release of billfish. Prior to the Governor’s Cup, less than ten percent of billfish caught were released. Inspired by the conservation message of the Series, anglers are now releasing record numbers of billfish caught in South Carolina waters. For more information, please visit the Series website.

Sunset Cay Marina is a 125 slip marina located on the Folly River, ten miles from downtown Charleston. The marina was opened in 2005. Appropriately named for its gorgeous sunsets, It is a quarter mile walk to a beautiful ocean beach. Dock slips are 40 feet long by 20 feet wide. Decking on docks is made of Ipe wood and concrete pilings. It is one mile to the Stono inlet to the ocean. Marina can accommodate boats up to 55 feet in individual slips. Daily rental rates are $1.50 per foot per day. Weekly rates start at $150 per week and long term monthly rates start at $250 minimum, calculated at $9.00 per foot. Free pump-out service available dockside for your holding tank with our new state-of-the-art pump-out boat.
