Curriculum Vitae My personal interest and my professional academic background inspired me and gives me appreciation for architecture which is both technically achievable and architectural innovative. My bachelor degree in Built Environment has provided me with a solid foundation in applying a clear construction and putting a building together correctly. While my master’s study further developed my skills for creating an extensively researched design with architectonic qualities.

Academy of Theatre Art - Theatre Academy Master Graduate project LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
BRUTALISM; raw materials, bold structures and a buildings with a strong image. This architecture movement was the starting point of my design for a professional theatre school. In this graduate studio, I investigated the National theatre which inspires me deeply. It is designed by Denis Lasdun, from whom I learnt how to incorporate the routing, respond on the context and make the building full of lively human interactions.

Routing The routing gradually guide the visitor into the building and, after some delay, end in the atrium with a large spiral staircase. For the users the experience of this route is orchestrated and very clear.

The square and outside theatre are public spaces that brings people together. These places are formed to enhance gathering and festivity. Inside the building the functions are ordered around an oak-lined atrium. The openings in the floors provides connections by visual and sound. In the atrium there is a sense of liveliness through the movement and flow of people.

Clear exhibition of structure The construction creates an atmosphere of striking geometric forms. From outside the concrete skeleton can be seen through the translucent façade. The cross braces system reinforce the building structure by transferring the weight of the second floor to the structural beams of the third floor. It works just like a bridge where the weight in the middle is transferred to the sides.
Memorability as an image There is an emphasis in the expressing of external elevations. The bulky strong shapes result in a memorable building. The building can be seen as a coherent and understandable visual entity by the use of uncompromisingly frank materials and a bold exhibited structure. GSEducationalVersion

The Nobility of Making - Integral Villa Masterproject 1 MAASTRICHT, THE NETHERLANDS
The Nobility of Making is a master project in designing an integral villa. In an integral desig every part of the building is equally important: location, program, shape, envelope, construction and installation. The design is started with making a grid and placing the rooms inside of the grid. This allows a rhythm in the facade and oor-plans which ensures a modest design.

Location One of the most interesting characteristics of this location is the incredible beautiful surrounding and the easy accessibility to the city centre of Maastricht. The villa is positioned on a slope facing down to the Maas. This orientation gives the building an amazing view over the water but also hill upward to the mountain top.

The building consist of two story’s. On the ground floor the more passive program functions are located, while on the first floor there are housing more active functions. The second separation in functions is between confidential and communal activities. On the first floor the confidential activities are placed in a closed box on the bottom side of the open plan.

La Citta Ideale - Yacht Club Masterproject 2 ANTWERPEN, BELGIUM
The outcome of this project is a design for a yacht club as a decidedly urban building: a building that beneďŹ ts from all advantages of being in a city, and at the same time enhances and enriches this city with its characteristics, a cittĂ ideale, an ideal city. The routing and the program is a logical experience for all users. Through multiple entrances, the yacht club has access from the parking garage, park, promenade and from the water.

Collegepark Zwijsen - Redevelopment and re-use De Woningbeheerder VEGHEL, THE NETHERLANDS
In the formar high school in Veghel approximately hundred apartments are build. In a team I worked on the concept design, technical implementation and marketing of the apartments. During designing the new apartments the monumental architecture and feasibility of the construction were taken into account.
