PERSPECTIVE OF WEST FACADE
The site is one of the most symbolic place of Georgia Tech main campus. It is in between Student Center on the east and Tech Green on the west. Seven huge trees provide perfect shadow to the site. We title this project ONOLE which means wind, originated in the Cherokee Indian lauguage. In this project, we propose the idea that taking advantage of natural and social flow to genarate power to manage micro-site economic system. The power is used to support the daily operation of food trucks and for exchange, they provide discount to students. We set up a dynamic

canopy in the middle of tree crown and the ground, composing of thousands of acrylic pipes embedded with Piezoelectronic wire. This material transforms the kinetic energy to electric energy, generating electricity from the movement of the wind. Also, another product of Piezo technolodge is applied on the ground floor named Piezo disc, generating power when people step on. The space is mainly used as food station which can be totaly open for breeze in warm weather and partially enclosed in cold wheather. Also, it could be enclosed as a large exhibtion space.

SITE PLAN
In this project we set up a series of screens that will create multiple views of the sky and the surrounding environment. Windows, skylights, pools and reflective surface work together to guarantee the guest have a unique experience. For the public part, we separate the sky lounge into three parts. The observatory is arranged at the top of the castle to ensure its height for the professional observation requirements. The restaurant is hided in the forest in front of the castle. The book store is suspended between the ground and the west corner of castle. Its surface is highly reflective and works as a sky mirror for

the lower houses. The observatory houses are organized dispersedly to protect each one’s private and silence. All of them are arranged radially towards to the castle. Same module repeatedly appears. The bedroom windows facing south are angled to frame the scenery of the true sky, mirrored sky and castle. For the large scale houses, pools also play another significant role that make an opposite image of sky. In their living rooms, there is a vertical order of skylight, transparent floor and water underneath. The primary material are wood and stone that have a reference from surrounding context.

The site is located at the intersection of The Atlanta Beltline Eastside Trail and North Highland Avenue. It is a steeply sloped triangular site that is bound by a multi-story residential building to the east, the Atlanta Beltline to the north and Highland Avenue to the south. The site represents a unique condition where connective tissue can be created between the

Beltline which is the urban public linear space and the local street network. The project includes two major movement. First one is a landscape work to provide vertical connectivity between trail and street and also to serve as a multi-functional public space. The second movement is to intergrate an addtional working/living/ exhibiting place for an artist-in-residence on the site.

WAVY R OOF

SITE PLAN
Hotel, a place designed for experiences, is situated in Ciqi kou —an ancient historical town in Chongqing, so the design of it must be in harmony with the ambient environment which is characteristic of cultural traditions and characters. During my design process, I attempted to find out the architectural elements that can best represent the overall image of Ciqi kou. The wavy roofs of Ciqikou’s buildings came into my view when I performed field investigations. Whether the interlaying roofs winding in accordance with the terrain, or the Jialing River which we can

take a glimpse at when standing on the path between the entities under the roofs. Based on this, a design plan was ready to come out—placing entity spaces packed in glass boxes under a whole wavy roof, and using twisting trails to connect the individual units in this space. A trail reaching the roof covering can provide visitors with the opportunity to experience close-up encounters with the wavy roofs in Ciqikou. Meanwhile, I tried column and tie construction when designing the roofs so they could go with the historical surroundings.
