Carol singers needed for Christmas Eve On Christmas Eve, the Chaplaincy organise carol singing around the wards. The more we have the earlier we finish! We were delighted to have staff and friends joining us last year. Guidance regarding Christmas decorations around the Trust Please comply with the following reminders when putting up Christmas decorations around the Trust:
General Policy Christmas decorations are encouraged in all areas of the hospital with the exception of cubicles used for the nursing of patients under transmission precautions. Planted live trees should not be introduced into clinical areas but can be used in all public areas.
Lights Please turn your lights off! Christmas lights should be turned off at the end of the day as they pose a large fire risk if left unattended.
Fixing decorations Please do not fix decorations to the walls as this may damage the wall surfaces. If fixing decorations to furniture, please use blu or white tack, rather than sellotape to fix them as this is easier to remove after Christmas.
Infection Control If there is an infection outbreak in clinical areas, decorations will have to be removed. If required, decorations can be decontaminated before or after Christmas using hydrogen peroxide robots. Please contact the Infection Control team on ext: 7700 6261 to arrange this.
