In a work that combines Blakean influences with a grass-roots hunger for the old Portland, artist Michael Waterman has painted "Portland Rhapsody (above)." Tom Cathcart of Falmouth at the Pax Christi, USA and Witness for Peace celebration outside the U.S. Embassy at Managua, Nicaragua on the morning after Congress voted to end Contra aid. A Sitness for Peace member was kidnapped and released during a similar mission recently. Mayor Dorler cut the ribbon at the opening of 1 Portland Square on March 18.
