In a work that combines Blakean influences with a grass-roots hunger for the old Portland, artist Michael Waterman has painted "Portland Rhapsody (above)." Waterman works will be presented by Gallery 127 from June 3-July 6. Commissioned by Michael Langadas, this painting is creating considerable interest. John Clark

Tom Cathcart of Falmouth at the Pax Christi, USA and Witness for Peace celebration outside the U.S. Embassy at Managua, Nicaragua on the morning after Congress voted to end Contra aid. A Sitness for Peace member was kidnapped and released during a similar mission recently. Mayor Dorler cut the ribbon at the opening of 1 Portland Square on March 18. On hand to assist were (I-r) Curtis Scribner, Ogden Hunnewell, and Robert Dauziger.
