Destination Port Stephens – A Blue Water Paradise
n Destinatio Port Stephens
Port Stephens has a unique blend of man made and natural attractions complemented by a vast array of conference venues to make your next event the most memorable for your clients. Individual venues can cater for up to 600 delegates and as a region we have catered for groups exceeding 600. Destination Port Stephens, in conjunction with key partners featured in this publication, will provide the menu for a great conference.
Port Stephens has two iconic features, the surreal desert landscape that is the Worimi Conservation Lands and Port Stephens waterway – which is now part of the Port Stephens Great Lakes Marine Park. Port Stephens is home to over 160 bottlenose dolphins which interact with the daily dolphin cruises, and whales provide spectacular entertainment for the whale watch cruises as they pass by twice a year. But there is much more... surfing, kayaking, fishing (home of the largest game-fishing tournament), golf, bush walking, koala spotting or eat and drink the local produce at our wineries, restaurants and cafÊs. There are also many land based attractions and unique shopping opportunities which can add value to your conference, meeting or corporate business event.
Welcome to the Country of the Worimi Aboriginal Nation The Australian Aboriginal Culture, the oldest living culture on earth, is diversified and has many nations, languages, traditions and customs. Port Stephens is a part of the country of the Worimi Aboriginal Nation and offers visitors many unique and remarkable attractions. The Worimi Aboriginal community welcome visitors to their land and invite you to enjoy and understand the Worimi Country with respect to land, culture and traditions. Caring for country is the manner in which the Worimi People have always lived. The Worimi Community invite you to appreciate the wonders of the local landscape and experience how sustainability and resource management principles have been implemented in Port Stephens. The effective management of the marine and terrestrial features is obvious in the abundant Port Stephens environment filled with remarkable flora, fauna and marine species. Port Stephens is a wonderland tourism experience and the Worimi Aboriginal Nation wishes all who arrive an enjoyable time.
