ORLANDO’S MOST POWERFUL RALLY TO SUPPORT THE UCF COLLEGE OF MEDICINE SCHOLARSHIP FUND April 29, 2016 – (Orlando, Florida) – The fourth annual MED SCHOOL CLASSIC golf tournament and sports networking event strategically connects the worlds of medicine and technology to benefit M.D. student scholarships at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. The 2016 tournament was held on April 25th at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club where a check for $40,000 was presented to Dr. Deborah German, vice president for medical affairs and founding dean of the College of Medicine. Dr. German thanked tournament organizers for helping the college attract the “best and brightest students in the country.” “We have more than 5,000 students applying for 120 places in each class,” she said. “Your support is helping build the reputation of our college. And as someone who went to medical school on a full scholarship, I can tell you firsthand the life changing importance of your gift.” In attendance: Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Phil Rawlins (Orlando City Soccer), Kathie Ramsberger (Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts), Jennifer Quigley (WBQ Design and Engineering), Scott Frost (Head Football Coach for UCF) and Danny White (UCF Athletic Director).
