ANF BOAT LAUNCH

Power boat use is especially heavy on these lakes on weekends; and forest officials recommend those using non-motorized boats or canoes be careful, including using the lakes in the early morning and late evening hours on weekends.

Personal flotation devices must be worn on all canoes and other boats less than 16 feet, by children less than 9 years of age, and by non-swimmers on all boats. Alcohol possession and consumption are prohibited on the water surface.

Motorized boating areas include the following areas on the Allegheny Reservoir: Dewdrop Recreation Area, Elijah Run Boat Launch and Shoreline Trail, Handsome Lake Boat Access Campground, Hooks Brook Boat Access Campground, Hopewell Boat Access Campground, Kiasutha Recreation Area, Kinzua Wolf Run Marina, Morrison Boat Access Campground, Pine Grove Boat Access Campground, Roper Hollow Boat Launch, Webbs Ferry Boat Launch and Willow Bay Recreation Area.

Also available are the Buckaloons Recreation Area in the Allegheny Wild and Scenic River and the Bradford Ranger District.

Non-motorized boating is available in the above areas as well as the Clarion River campsites and Irwin Run Canoe Launch in the Clarion Wild and Scenic River area as well as the Beaver Meadows Hiking Trail and Day Use Area and Buzzard Swamp Wildlife Viewing and Hiking Area in the Marienville Ranger District.

Tubing is available at the Dewdrop Recreation Area, Elijah Run Boat Launch and Shoreline Trail, Handsome Lake Boat Access Campground, Hooks Brook Boat Access Campground, Hopewell Boat Access Campground, Kinzua Wolf Run Marina, Morrison Boat Access Campground, Pine Grove Boat Access Campground, Roper Hollow Boat Launch and Webbs Ferry Boat Launch in the Allegheny Reservoir. Tubing is also available in the Allegheny Wild and Scenic River and the Bradford Ranger District.

Swimming

Swimming is available in the Dewdrop Recreation Area, Elijah Run Boat Launch and Shoreline Trail, Handsome Lake Boat Access Campground, Hooks Brook Boat Access Campground, Hopewell Boat Access Campground, Kiasutha Recreation Area, Kinzua Beach, Morrison Boat Access Campground, Pine Grove Boat Access Campground, Red Bridge Recreation Area, Roper Hollow Boat Launch and Willow Bay Recreation Area in the Allegheny Reservoir. There are also swimming areas in the Allegheny Wild and Scenic River, Bradford Ranger Station and the Loleta Recreation Area and the Twin Lakes Recreation Area and Black Cherry Trail in the Marienville Ranger District.
